Lethal Weapon star Gary Busey is to appear in Hitman as a special Elusive Target, Square Enix has announced. Busey will appear in Sapienza for 7 days from this Thursday, July 21 in a new Elusive Target mission called ‘The Wildcard’. As with other Elusive Targets, players will have only one chance to take him down. You can see the back of his head in the image above. Busey’s appearance follows after Square’s ‘Choose Your Hit’ campaign, which asked players to vote for whether they’d rather kill Gary Busey or Gary Cole in-game....
The highly-anticipated third-person shooter Gears 5 made waves when it launched over a month ago to stellar reviews. Now, developer The Coalition is hoping to further delight players of the game’s multiplayer component by adding a grand total of six new Gears characters today. Each new character became available in the Gears 5 multiplayer as of 3 PM EDT. Previously, Xbox partnered with WWE to bring professional wrestler Bautista to the Gears 5 multiplayer as a playable character; with the new update, The Coalition seems to be refocusing on actual Gears lore–although there are two additions from Terminator Dark Fate....
It’s being reported that Gears developers The Coalition might be working on a new IP. The news comes by way of an employee’s LinkedIn profile, spotted by industry insider Klobrille on Twitter. Level Designer Pedro Camacho D’Andrea’s profile appeared to indicate he’s been working as a Level Designer “on new IP” since February of this year. The listing has since been edited and removed, presumably by Pedro. The studio confirmed it was shifting its development over to Unreal Engine 5 back in May....

Gran Turismo 7 will support Sony’s new PlayStation VR2 headset when it launches late next month, and the PSVR2 upgrade will be free to all owners of the driving sim. It’s a big boon for the new hardware, joining Horizon Call of the Mountain when it comes to first-party titles available for PSVR2 at launch. Racing games are a natural fit for virtual reality - it’s been my preferred way to play ever since it became a viable option - and Gran Turismo 7 follows in the footsteps of Gran Turismo Sport which was supported by the original PSVR headset....
Halo: Reach may be rocketing to the top of Steam’s best-sellers chart, but the new PC port isn’t exactly perfect. In a number of threads across Reddit and Steam, users are reporting that Halo’s homecoming has been stricken with both audio and framerate issues. The most obvious is that the audio mixing is completely out of whack. I can confirm this issue, too. As early as the first cutscene in the game, players will be treated to dialogue that sounds like it isn’t properly centered and gunfire that is oddly muffled....
Halo 5 Warzone is a new 24-player mode found in the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced. The mode is described as being “more ambitious than anything ever introduced in Halo, combining the best elements of Halo gameplay into one, gigantic multiplayer mode”. We’re promised multiplayer maps four times the size of any previous Halo game, AI controlled squadmates, and player vs AI games.
Today, HBO Max has confirmed that James Gunn’s new DC Comics television series, Peacemaker, is getting a second season. News of season 2 came by way of the director’s Twitter account, who thanked producer Peter Safran, lead actor John Cena, the cast and crew, and all of the fans for the support. Hello Games has been in a secret three year legal dispute with Sky over the user of the word “Sky” in the title of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games founder Sean Murray has revealed. Thankfully this has now been settled, though the terms have not been revealed. “Yay! We finally settled with Sky (they own the word “Sky”). We can call our game No Man’s Sky. 3 years of secret stupid legal nonsense over,” Tweeted Murray....

Hitman: Episode 5 launches next Tuesday, September 27, but to tide you over until then, IO Interactive has released a short 20 second teaser offering you a closer look at Agent 47’s latest targets. Hitman 2’s concluding DLC update for this year will offer a trip to The Maldives, two Special Assignments, two new unlocks, and more, as announced in IO Interactive’s September roadmap. The Escalation Contracts coming this month are The Dalton Dissection, The Covert Dispersal, The Dubious Cohabitation, and The Merle Revelation. The Dalton Dissection and The Covert Dispersal release first, on September 5. The action will smoulder to an inferno through three stages in The Dalton Dissection, as 47 bounces from hit to hit in the Bank Robber disguise....
