IO Interactive has revealed a themed Halloween event for Hitman 2, arriving today for all platforms as part of patch 2.71.0. The Halloween event comes with an eerie Escalation Contract, though details are light on the ground. We do know it’s in the Hawke’s Bay and rewards the tactical wetsuit and bat shuriken for those brave enough to complete it. And Agent 47 seems to get a pumpkin head and a raggedy costume as part of the event, in case he wasn’t scary enough....

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is live in the game, giving fans of the popular battle royale the chance to complete a variety of challenges. Along with the usual batch of match-based challenges that Fortnite players have to complete, there’s also a new type of challenges based around Marvel Comics character Deadpool, with the likely prize being an actual Deadpool skin. Today Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica Studio officially revealed the graphics mode available for its action-adventure game God of War Ragnarok. If you’re playing on a standard PS4, you’re out of options, you can play only in standard mode at 1080p, targeting 30 FPS (meaning that you’ll be at 30 FPS or under). If you’re on PS4 Pro, you can favor performance to play between 1080p and 1656p with unlocked 30 FPS (meaning that the game will be able to run at frame rates above 30 FPS), or favor quality with resolution varying between 1440p and 1656p targeting 30 FPS....

The console versions of Gone Home have been cancelled, Fullbright has confirmed. Speaking to DualShockers, Fullbright co-founder Steve Gaynor confirmed that “Gone Home for console is not actively in development any longer”, adding that the studio’s partnership deal with Majesco “has sadly come to an end”. The console versions of Gone Home were originally due to release last year under Majesco’s indie publishing label Midnight City. However, Majesco warned investors last November that its future was in “substantial doubt” after suffering significant losses....

Gran Turismo Sport’s PlayStation VR mode “has only been in earnest development for ‘four months’”, according to a new report by Ars Technica. The site claims to have been given the time frame by Sony representatives at last weekend’s PlayStation Experience. And it “certainly feels that way,” the report says, “thanks to an unfortunate mix of paltry graphical quality and uneven frame rates”.
