A fresh update for Grand Theft Auto 5 has added a motion blur slider for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S - meaning you can finally turn the feature off completely. A list of patch notes from Rockstar includes various other welcome tweaks and fixes. On Xbox, for example, audio is no longer paused when opening the Xbox guide or in an Xbox party. Halo: Infinite is set to be the premier next-generation launch title for Xbox’s new Xbox Series X hardware. It has been known for a while now that Halo: Reach would be coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection as added DLC, though it was just a question of when. Now, as per the X019 press conference, Halo: Reach will be coming to Xbox One and PC on December 3rd. There had been indicators on November 14th that directed toward the Halo: Reach port’s official release date. Hasbro is set to lay off approximately 1,000 people from its global workforce this year in an effort to cut costs, around 15 percent of global full-time employees. This is to achieve its goal of delivering $250-300m in annualised run-rate cost savings by the end of 2025. “The elimination of these positions will impact many loyal Hasbro employees, and we do not undertake this process lightly. However, the changes are necessary to return our business to a competitive, industry-leading position and to provide the foundation for future success,” said CEO Chris Cocks....

Brilliant dark-fantasy epic Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is getting kitted out with virtual reality support in a new update later this month, developer Ninja Theory has announced. Due out on July 31, the patch will add support for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, although curiously PlayStation VR is not getting in on the action. An hour of new footage of Arkane Lyon’s cancelled Half-Life 2 spinoff, Ravenholm, has been released courtesy of Noclip. The YouTube channel, best known for its long-form documentaries covering the development of numerous games, both released and unreleased, uploaded the new footage which it recorded during a 2020 visit to Arkane Lyon. “This footage is being made public as part of Noclip’s mission to document and preserve the history of video games,” wrote Noclip in the description of the video....

Sonic: Lost World, the Wii U exclusive Sonic platformer, will launch for Steam on November 2, SEGA has announced. The game was released for Wii U in 2013. The PC port will feature full controller support, Steam Achievements, Cloud Save, leaderboard functionality, interchangeable keyboard prompts, and widescreen and high resolution implementation. Turn 10 Studios, the developer of Forza Motorsport 7, has set out a list of offensive content that players must not use in their activity in the game (via GamesIndustry.biz). These were included in a blog post published over the weekend. Inappropriate user-generated content consists of the inclusion of “profanity or other offensive terms or gestures: This includes phrases such as ‘FTP,’ ‘ACAB,’ ‘CIP,’ and other abbreviations.” Illegal activities, personal information like phone numbers and addresses, and “certain notorious individuals, organizations, events, iconography” are also banned....
