Futuristic PC shooter Ghost in the Shell: First Assault has entered open beta, Nexon has announced. You can give it a go by downloading it from Steam or via the Nexon Launcher. The shooter has been playable in closed beta since last October, but – with the exception of a free weekend back in April – today marks the first time it’s been opened up to all players free of charge....

Though there are quite a few fans enjoying the just-released Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, there’s also a large amount of criticism surrounding the game, namely with frame rate and random glitches. Over 5 million physical copies of Grand Theft Auto 5 have been sold in the UK, according to figures released by Gfk Chart-Track. The milestone comes 20 months after the game first went on sale in September 2013, and just 4 weeks after the release of the PC version. 3 million copies were sold within the game’s first month on sale. While it isn’t clear how sales are split across platforms, the vast majority of units are expected to have been sold on last-gen consoles....

Rockstar Games are adding a new underground nightclub to Grand Theft Auto V. The new social area will be released as part of the upcoming Cayo Perico Heist update. The underground nightclub will be known as the Music Locker. It will be located directly underneath the Diamond Casino, situated in Vinewood. The Music Locker can be visited by all GTA Online players. However, if you own a Diamond Penthouse at your casino, you will have access to a VIP area in your nightclub....

Square Enix has shared new gameplay details of the upcoming Dragon Quest Treasures, the upcoming role-playing game spin-off headed to Nintendo Switch. Throughout the game, and as the name suggests, there will be a variety of treasures for players to uncover. This includes smaller items, known as “bric-a-brac”, which will glow with a silvery aura when you come up to them. You will also see your monster companions getting excited, and little speech bubbles will appear above their heads when they know you are in the vicinity of some goodies....

On Friday, IO Interactive and Warner Bros. Interactive announced that Hitman 2‘s third Elusive Target, The Appraiser, is live and ready to be taken out. She is located on the Isle of Sgàil in the North Atlantic and will be available from January 25 to February 3. As with all Elusive targets, you’ll have only one chance to assassinate her within the 10-day period. Successful players will unlock the tuxedo and mask with gloves suit....

Square Enix has confirmed that upcoming fantasy adventure Forspoken will arrive on May 24, 2022 on PS5 and PC. The latest footage gives us a better look at the mysterious land of Athia. It’s the magical land that present day protagonist Frey Holland finds herself transported to by a mysterious power. Once there, she finds the land being corrupted by a force known as the Break. Frey has come into contact with this Break, but has somehow survived its corrupting influence....

Fortnite developer Epic Games reckons its only a matter of time before cross-play is enabled between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players, suggesting it could be ‘one of the best things to ever happen to the console industry.’ Speaking at the State of Unreal panel at the Game Developers Conference 2018 this week (via PST), Epic boss Tim Sweeney reckons the barrier will ‘inevitably come down’ despite the fact Sony doesn’t seem willing to budge on the matter, having blocked cross-play for a number of titles....

Fortnite developer Epic Games has revealed a new weapon will be making its way to the perpetually popular battle royale title soon: the port-a-fortress grenade. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, you simply lob the grenade and out pops a handy fortress for you take cover in. It’s basically an evolution of the port-a-fort grenade, although this time you get an entire base for your troubles. The new weapon appears to be a Legendary item, and while a release date hasn’t been specified yet, it’ll probably turned up tomorrow or Wednesday....
