Gloomwood came alive for me when I got outside. This is immersive-sim-ish territory, everything tilted towards horror and stealth. Navigating the lovingly rendered PS1 era visuals, which do help a great deal to make ordinary objects singular and creepy, I awake at the bottom of a pit with nothing but a mysterious ally, taunting me through a nearby grate before offering me a magic ring. The ring allows me to tell when I’m hidden in shadow, and once it’s on my hand and the grate has been opened, I start to realise how useful it’s going to be....

The planned beta for Gran Turismo Sport has been cancelled in order for the game to launch this year, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has told VideoGamer. It’s pretty incredible that a game that came out all the way back in 2013 is still as relevant and popular as Grand Theft Auto V still is. Grand Theft Auto 6, the next major entry in Rockstar’s best-selling series, is “well underway” and in “active development”, Rockstar said today. This release brings the strategy card game based on a minigame from The Witcher 3 to new players and introduces new ways to play as it is available on both iPhones and iPads. After one hell of a long wait, the live-action Halo TV adaptation finally arrived earlier this year, and the response has been…mixed. And now Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the videogame series that started all, has shared his own thoughts on the adaptation, saying that while he doesn’t “hate” it, he was ultimately “confused by many of the choices that were made”. Paramount+’s Halo adaptation finally launched for US audiences this March - a mere nine years after it was originally announced - and while changes were expected (fans were forewarned that the TV show takes place in the so-called Silver Timeline, separate from the core Halo canon), the end result has certainly proven divisive....
The battle continues between EA DICE’s lootbox system and the fans and Star Wars Battlefront II isn’t even officially out yet. Nonetheless, following the overwhelmingly negative response we reported on yesterday, the company has seen fit to slash the in-game cost to acquire heroes in the game drastically. In an open letter to fans, Executive Producer John Wasilczyk outlined the changes, saying that Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now cost 15,000 credits down from their original 60,000 while Emperor Palpatine, Leia and Chewie will now cost 10,000 down from 40,000....
