So, how did you fare with Gears 5’s Early Access? A little rocky? Don’t worry, The Coalition have a little gift for everybody to help smooth things over. It’s always the same, isn’t it? Gears of War 4 will release holiday 2016 on Xbox One, Microsoft has announced. Revealed during the Xbox E3 2015 conference, Gears of War 4 appears to star a new character named JD and a new female soldier. A world premiere gameplay demo showed off a new dog-like enemy, as well as weapons including the chainsaw assault rifle, shotgun and pistol. The UI looks the same as previous Gears titles....

After the closed beta a few weeks ago, Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting an open beta, running from February 23 – 27, on current-gen consoles and PC. Preloading is available from Monday 20 if you’re an eager beaver. The open beta will include the Itacua region available in the closed beta, and the Montuyoc region which we haven’t seen yet. Apparently it’s snowy. If you’re interested in Wildlands now’s the time to gussy up three friends....

Publisher All In! Games has announced that slick cyberpunk parkour adventure Ghostrunner will be getting a Hardcore Mode later this week as part of a free update, as well as a paid Winter Pack DLC with some icy-themed extras. Hardcore Mode will be unlocked after completing the main game, and will challenge players with altered level designs as well as introduce tougher enemies usually seen further into the campaign from the get-go, really testing your skills as you attempt to climb Dharma Tower....

Just Die Already is an open-world sandbox game with gameplay that revolves around old people getting violently mangled. Epic Games has announced that Fortnite Battle Royale owners will finally have the chance to snap up the founder’s pack skins in a new update. The founder’s pack was released last summer and was bundled with the game’s paid-for Save the World mode. Essentially, it was one of the better ways to get on board this version of the game, as you at least got some some added bits and bobs for your hard-earned cash....

Fortnite’s latest 10.40 update brings a lot of new content including a never-before-seen weapon, but it also adds a new set of challenges as well. This week’s Fortnite Bullseye challenges contain 14 different challenges that players have to complete to earn rewards. Most of these challenges require players to hit different targets during matches, and some of these can be quite challenging for players who are unaware of the exact locations....

Epic Games’ Fortnite is celebrating the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order with the offer of an Imperial Stormtrooper skin for players to wear (via Twinfinite). Players who are not force sensitive are able to snag the skin through the in-game Fortnite store for 1,500 V-Bucks (or $15 ish) until November 17. However, if they change their mind, players who buy the Stormtrooper skin and then buy Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the Epic Games Store afterwards will be refunded their 1,500 V-Bucks....

If the latest rumors are to be believed, Fortnite players may have a few big things to look forward to once Season 10 wraps up next month. According to dataminers who’ve been diving into the files of Fortnite’s recent updates, Epic Games may soon finally do something fans have been clamoring for all season. More than that, though, it may be soon unleash the biggest change to its battle royale gameplay in a long time: a brand new map....

Fortnite players were surprised to see fake video game baddie Wreck-It-Ralph make an unexpected cameo in the Epic Games shooter this week. It’s only brief, but still made people sit up and take notice, unless you don’t happen to know who Wreck-It-Ralph is. He appears at Risky Reels, at the large drive-in movie screen and waves at you before disappearing. Presumably this is teasing some sort of crossover event, as Thanos (another Disney-owned property) briefly turned up in Fortnite earlier this year....
