During gamescom 2019, developer VARSAV Game Studios unveiled one of its upcoming projects in the form of Giants Uprising, an action game that sees players controlling a destructive giant. This year’s gamescom event saw VARSAV Game Studios return with more information on the game, including a new trailer that shows extensive footage of the title’s cutscenes. Kratos and Atreus’ jump to PC seems to have gone down well, as God of War apparently welcomed more than 70,000 concurrent players on its first weekend. The numbers come from Steamdb.info who report that the PC version of the game enjoyed a peak of 73,529 users playing the game at the same time in the last 24 hours. (As spotted by PC Gamer) The game is currently also number one seller on the Steam chart following launch this past Friday....

As Helm’s rate-up banner is coming to an end, Shift Up has wasted no time in teasing the next SSR addition to Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Over on the game’s official Twitter account, they’ve released just an image showing of the silhouette of a character, along with the caption: “All NIKKEs are heroic.” While the tweet doesn’t explicitly say it, the silhouette makes it pretty obvious that it’s Laplace in that picture, and she’s very likely going to be the next character added to the SSR pool....

Google’s Arts and Culture team has created a cute Zelda-like adventure for those looking to further their education on ancient Mesoamerica. Known as The Descent of the Serpent, this game was made in collaboration with Mexico’s National Museum of Anthropology (thanks, The Verge). It starts off with the player visiting a museum. However, out of nowhere, the Lord of the Smoking Mirror, Tezcatlipoca, rushes in and steals an artefact on display....

The Akihabara-based manufacturer made three Nendoroids available for pre-order today Zagreus from Hades (Japanese Store & US Store), Geralt Ronin inspired by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt spinoff manga The Witcher Ronin (Japanese Store & US Store), and Arthur from Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection (Japanese Store & US Store). Zagreus will be available in October 2022 in Japan and in December in the US, priced respectively at 5,500 yen and $54....

An enterprising modder has managed to recreate parts of Half-Life 2 in the brand new Half-Life: Alyx. In addition to being able to explore an area from Half-Life 2 in VR, this also means that the game maps are running in the crisp, clean Source 2 engine. Modder Vect0R debuted footage of their work in a showcase video on YouTube. They state that they had been planning this mod since January, before Alyx was officially released....

Fans of Halo Infinite have impressively recreated the famous and iconic Duel of the Fates scene from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The fanmade map, created by user Zackfair6996, can be accessed using Halo Infinite’s free-to-play Forge mode, which more information on can be found right here. Also, the official Halo Waypoint website’s page on the Forge map can be found using the following link. For those who may not know what scene exactly the name Duel of the Fates is referring to, it is the scene in Star Wars Episode I where Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan face off against Darth Maul....

Earlier today, Halo Infinite lead narrative designer Aaron Linde revealed that he would be leaving 343 Industries for a position at Riot Games. As you can see below, the announcement was made in a rather amusing way, as he used beloved anime Neon Genesis Evangelion’s classic “on the next episode” bookend to reveal where life was taking him next. Alongside the clever “next time on” anime announcement of his departure, Linde also posted the following statement regarding his choice to move on to Riot Games....

IO Interactive has announced that it is making the first level of Hitman 3 free to everyone for a week from today until April 5 via a new Hitman 3 Starter Pack. The pack launches today, and promises to always offer free access to the game’s ICA Facility tutorial missions, but will periodically also allow limited-time access to several other levels from across the entire World of Assassination trilogy, with any progress carrying over to the full game should you buy it....

Luminous Productions has announced it has delayed the release of upcoming adventure Forspoken to October 11, 2022. In a message to the game’s official Twitter account, the team explained their decision. “Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall....

Fortnite on iOS has made $300 million through microtransactions in the 200 days since it was released on the platform and that’s an awful lot of money.
