Nintendo is keeping the nostalgia flowing with the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate spirits event. Similar to last year’s Resident Evil event, this next limited-time spirit sighting will characters from the popular Kunio-Kun/River City Ransom series. Players will be able to collect Kunio, Riki, and a few of the bosses from the NES title to use throughout Smash Ultimate’s campaign and spirit battles. The event will be running from January 24 to January 28....
Cyberpunk-styled parkour game Ghostrunner has been given a release date for October 27, co-publishers All In Games and 505 Games revealed today. The game, first revealed at Gamescom last year, sees you armed with a katana as you traverse a neon-futuristic city pakour-style in first person; wall-running, jumping, slashing and performing plenty of other acrobatic moves while attempting not to plummet to your death below. The game’s got a pumping synthwave soundtrack as you’d probably expect, composed by Daniel Deluxe and the publishers have also announced that there’ll be a private beta as well as an updated demo for the game for PC on Steam on September 29....

As part of Halo Infinite’s Winter Update, 343 is giving its rather unpopular match XP system a welcome overhaul. It was previously revealed that players will soon be able to earn XP just through playing, but now we have more detail. When this update goes live on 8th November, Halo Infinite’s “Match XP Beta” will see players rewarded for playing “whatever mode they want”. Each individual player’s performance will then earn them additional rewards for things such as being part of the winning team....
Sega has just announced Project Sekai, a mobile Hatsune Miku rhythm game that is currently being developed by the company in partnership with Craft Egg Inc., the creators of Bang Dream! Girls Band Party. Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid first developed by Crypton Future Media on August 31st of 2007. Upon release, the voicebank associated with her likeness was completed in both Japanese and English, with a Chinese version of the software being released later....

You will first need to patch The Imagined into a loudspeaker and collect Doomsday Control Keys before unlocking this Week 10 challenge. Completing this challenge will reward you with 23k XP, which will help you unlock skins from the new battle pass. Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed....
Fortnite has introduced a whole set of new challenges for the first season of Chapter 2, which began about 40 hours after the whole game was sucked into a black hole (and it spawned a whole mess of really funny black hole Fortnite memes). Playground Games has announced that Forza Horizon 3 has formally entered the “End of Life” period of its lifecycle.
