The God of War games were termed as being heavy on the action and easy on the story before 2018’s soft reboot came around, but that’s not exactly a true assumption as the series overall has had plenty of moments that attest to the story’s quality. Gotham Knights’ development team has addressed the recent criticism surrounding its depiction of Barbara Gordon. During a recent Q&A, fans asked more about the development of Barbara, aka Batgirl. This was following a backlash to her character’s biography on the game’s website, which described her as training to “recover from her wounds” so that she could “return to active duty as Batgirl”. In the comic books, Barbara Gordon is shot in the spine by Joker, leading to her using a wheelchair....

GTA 5 Online Heists, the long-awaited four-player game mode for GTA Online, will launch March 10, Rockstar Games has announced. “We know it’s been a wait, and appreciate your patience,” said Rockstar on its Newswire. “Heists will bring a brand new 4-player cooperative gameplay experience to GTA Online, giving players the chance to team up to pull off a string of intense, multi-part raids and robberies across Los Santos and Blaine County....

In case you missed it, ArenaNet has once again delivered the Guild Wars 2 goods with another week focusing on a specific race in the upcoming MMO. This time it was the norn, a large, shape-shifting race who worship the Spirits of the Wilds. Their MMO is lining up to a big hit in 2011, and I count it among my top games to look forward to. Why? The Kickstarter campaign for Guns Undarkness has reached its successful conclusion. The game is being developed by Shoji Meguro, composer of several Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games, on top of Catherine and more. 2,000 (yes, exactly two-thousand) backers pledged 19,247,775 yen (over $129,000), nearly five times the initial goal of 4,200,000 yen. An exciting detail is that this also unlocks the stretch goal that will bring the game to consoles on top of the initially announced PC version....

A live-action trailer rolling out later this week for Halo 5: Guardians will reveal the first details on the story behind this year’s big Xbox One shooter, Microsoft has teased. Premiering on Xbox.com this Sunday, March 29, the trailer will show “a first glimpse of the intriguing story of one of the year’s most anticipated games”, with “an episodic narrative audio series” also available to listen to on an official Halo 5 Tumblr....

While Netflix does not release viewership information regarding their original content, it’s not hard to imagine that its October 2018-premiered original horror series, The Haunting of Hill House, was a massive success, based on fan reaction alone. If I ever thought of an inside joke within the gaming industry, it would have to do with Hideo Kojima “quitting” the Metal Gear Solid series. Lorrine Marer, a behavioral specialist, is suggesting that Fortnite is not just the world’s most popular game but is basically heroin for kids. “This game is like heroin,” said Marer. “Once you are hooked, it’s hard to get unhooked.” Marer’s outspoken comments regarding the impact of Fortnite and how it is corrupting society’s youths come as part of a large report published by Bloomberg that argues that Fortnite addiction is spiraling out of control....

A new season has begun for Fortnite players bringing some new changes and features to the battle royale. Compared to previous additions in the first season of Chapter 2, Epic Games has stayed away from extensively modifying the map with today’s release. Of course, with the arrival of Chapter 2, Season 2 comes a new battle pass and weekly challenges to get players off to an XP-filled start. This morning’s update provides the first set of tasks based off the new spy theme....

Fortnite’s crossover potential seems limitless these days. If anyone asked me to start naming all of the icons that have arrived to the builder battle royale, I’d quickly run out of fingers before deciding to just give up. The latest additions include Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe, the Predator, Terminator characters, and even Tron stuff. Street Fighter is the latest series to crossover with Fortnite. Fans of both series are sure to like what’s coming....
