Video game retailer GameStop confirms that more than 100 people have been laid off across the retailer and at its video game publication, Game Informer. GameStop had let go more than 50 managers at its retail stores earlier this month as part of its “GameStop Reboot” restructuring, and these new layoffs are also part of this plan. Game Informer staff began to share the news of layoffs on social media. On Twitter, the publication’s former senior editor Imran Khan, former senior associate editor Kyle Hilliard, and former associate editor Elise Favis confirmed that they had been let go as part of the layoffs....

Wales and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale is the cover star for the UEFA EURO 2016 video game, Konami has announced. In addition to appearing on the game’s cover, Bale will feature in promotional materials. “Gareth Bale is one of the hottest properties in world football, so we are delighted that he is the face of our UEFA EURO 2016 content for PES 2016,” stated Erik Bladinieres, European Brand Director of Football for Konami Digital Entertainment B....

Ghost Recon Breakpoint players have been waiting for quite some time now for a large-scale patch to fix issues they’ve been dealing with since launch, but unfortunately, they’ll have to wait a bit longer. Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint team pushed back the release of a major “immersive mode” update just a week before its originally scheduled launch; now, the new mode won’t be arriving until the spring. Breakpoint’s launch wasn’t too long ago in October 2019, but Ubisoft reported that sales were low upon release, and since then the developer has been trying to fix and adjust gameplay where possible to make the game better for its players....

Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer mode just went live in beta, allowing players to jump into the game ahead of its full December launch. The first trailer for HBO’s WestWorld has been released and the show certainly looks like one to watch when it premieres in October. Inspired by the 1973 film Westworld, written and directed by Michael Crichton, the new 10 part series is described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin”. The show features an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and Luke Hemsworth....
