Epic has announced that its early access co-op survival game, Fortnite, will be getting a new 100-player Battle Royale mode, and this is due to release on September 26. Battle Royale takes the game mode popularised by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and meshes it with the destructible environments of Fortnite. Fortnite has stunned fans by signalling an early end to its third map at the conclusion of its current season, via a live event named Fracture set to take place at 9pm UK time on 3rd December. Fracture was teased tonight by developer Epic Games at the conclusion of Fortnite Champion Series, its first major in-person Fortnite competition for several years. Today Square Enix finally released a new trailer of its upcoming FullMetal Alchemist mobile game. This time around, the trailer focuses on cutscenes, which are made in 3D but stick rather closely to the style of the anime. Kotaku has received a copy of a memo reportedly circulating among GameStop management which urges store operators to keep their locations open in the event of coronavirus-related state shutdowns. “Due to the products we carry that enable and enhance our customers’ experience in working from home, we believe GameStop is classified as essential retail and therefore is able to remain open during this time,” reads part of the memo. The developer behind PlayStation 4-exclusive dad epic God of War has not ruled out the possibility of introducing a Photo Mode for the game down the line.
