Developer Polyphony Digital has rolled a fresh Gran Turismo Sport update out of the garage, adding 12 new vehicles for the acclaimed racing simulator plus a bunch of extra GT League events. Petrol heads will be able to strap themselves into the driving seat of a number of flashy motors, including the Dodge Challenger R/T ’70, Ford Mustang Mach ’71, and the Toyota MR2. Meanwhile, GT League has gained plenty of new distractions such as the Beginner’s League ‘Stars and Stripes’ and Porsche Cup Round 2 events....

Grounded is the latest big release from Obsidian that’s all about shrunken survival. The developer announced the next update today and there’s a lot to cover. While previous updates introduced things like Koi ponds and even more spiders, this one seems more tame. The 0.6.0 update for Grounded will give players three new creatures to contend with and a ton of craftables. First off, players will have new neighbors in the yard in the form of three new flying insects....

Tyria, the world of Guild Wars 2, was overrun by chonkers for April Fool’s Day this year. Enormous kitties appeared in all capital cities, looming over the citizens, while all players received important mail from His Royal Majesty, First Claw of the Realms and Conqueror of the Sunbeam Throne, the King of All Cats. Unfortunately, we don’t know anyone who speaks fluent cat, so the message is anyone’s guess, but at least His Royal Majesty included tonics with a 20% experience gain from kills for the remainder of the event, so it’s probably good news....

Halo Infinite will be allowing select players another taste of its multiplayer in a preview kicking off on September 24. 343 Industries announced the news via the official Halo Twitter account. It follows on from the previous technical preview at the end of July that focused on onboarding and the new Academy mode. That’ll return this time around, along with improved bots and a bigger focus on Arena PvP. There’ll also be a new map, and new modes including Big Team Battle are promised too....

In a shocking turn of events, HBO has decided to cancel the popular sci-fi drama Westworld after four seasons. The news comes amidst a slew of cancellations and layoffs after a massive merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery. Robots are taking center stage in the newly-announced Hearthstone expansion, titled Boomsday Project. Launching on August 7th for PC and mobile, the set will focus on cards themed around mechs and the mad scientist who creates them. New mechanics include the ability to stick robots together, spells that help both players, and the first-ever appearance of Legendary spell cards. According to a recent leak from a reliable dataminer, Fortnite may be introducing helicopters to its battle royale mode in the game’s upcoming update. Along with the new vehicle, the leak also points to brand new weapons, limited time modes, and new skins. Interactive TV company Eko has announced that #WarGames – an interactive TV series based on the 1983 Matthew Broderick film WarGames – is set to launch in 2018 created by acclaimed Her Story developer Sam Barlow. They’ll be working in partnership with the original film’s distribution company MGM. As Variety reports the TV series will only be loosely based on the original film that saw Broderick’s character inadvertently get involved in a game of Thermonuclear War....

Hideki Kamiya, director at Platinum Games, has suggested that the Xbox is not tailored to Japanese tastes for entertainment and hardware. The admission comes from an interview with Video Games Chronicle, in which Hideki Kamiya and executive director Atsushi Inaba expressed little interest in an acquisition by any partner which would “limit our freedom.” The studio is now independent, following an investment injection from Tencent Holdings, and will continue to work away on its own independent ambitions....

Epic Games has introduced a new community-made limited time mode (or LTM) called Search and Destroy to Fortnite, and it is available to play today. The game mode is part of Fortnite’s Valentine’s Day-themed Love and War event, which will continue until February 17, three days after the holiday proper. World War Z developer Saber Interactive has enabled full cross-play on for its co-op zombie shooter. Despite the feature being enabled back in March, PS4 players were excluded at that time. Now, players on all three major platforms can play all PvE modes together. The update is titled “Dronemaster,” because not only is cross-play enhanced, a brand new class is also available.
