When talking about The Elder Scrolls franchise, most players tend to remember only Skyrim and Oblivion. Those who have been around as fans for a longer time will often mention Morrowind as well, but only real old-time fans will be familiar with games like Daggerfall and Arena. These titles, although very old now, served as defining steps towards games like Skyrim. Skyrim has become a bit of a sensation over the years, and is well-known for its memes, bugs, amazing open-world, and also its pretty huge file size....

Game of Thrones Season 7 could premiere later than its typical March/April slot due to production being pushed back to allow the elements to more closely resemble Winter in Westeros. “We don’t have an air date yet,” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed on the UFC Unfiltered podcast. “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes anymore....

A new trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 has been released, setting out a battle for the Iron Throne between Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Season 7 will feature seven episodes, the first of which will premiere at 2am on July 17 on Sky Atlantic – simulcast with the HBO broadcast in the US. A repeat at 9pm will also be broadcast later that day, plus your usual on-demand viewing on Sky and Now TV....

While Sonic The Hedgehog has never exactly been considered one of gaming’s more notable swimmers, apparently he is far less skilled at swimming than we ever thought. A quick image search will result in pictures of the speedy hedgehog from Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, clearly showing Sonic wearing a life vest during a swimming event. The same can also be said for the earlier title in the series, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Beijing 2008....

The Last of Us and Uncharted’s worlds have merged together, as players have recently discovered Uncharted: The Board Game in the zombie action-adventure. As one of the industry’s most celebrated developers, Naughty Dog is renowned for designing intricately detailed worlds and is also known for having a meta quality. Recently, one Reddit user encountered an example of said meta in The Last of Us with a reference to the Uncharted series....

The physical GDC Summer 2020 show has officially been canceled and will instead be held digitally on Aug. 4-6. “While GDC organizers look forward to meeting again in person as soon as possible, this August’s GDC Summer will be transformed into an all-digital event in order to best serve our community,” reads a statement from the GDC organizers. “We have been continuously reviewing the best ways to serve the game development community over the past few months as the world has continued to adapt to developments....

Goat Simulator’s zombie-based DLC, GoatZ, will launch on May 7, developer Coffee Stain has announced. The developer joked that GoatZ will be “the only survival game on Steam that isn’t in Early Access”. GoatZ will offer a crafting system, zombies, a big new map, lots of unlockable new goats and a realistic survival mode. Unusually for Goat Simulator, this DLC is going to cost you some money, $4.99 to be precise....

The director of upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive rage-filled actioner God of War has defended the changes made to Kratos’ latest adventure, urging players to hold off judging the game until they play it. Obviously. Speaking with Kotaku, Cory Barlog acknowledged that some fans on social media appear to be irked with some of the new additions to the game (Kratos has a son in tow and appears to have taken a few anger management courses, to name but a few), but stands by the team’s decisions....

God of War Ragnarök’s release is just around the corner and, in anticipation of this, Sony has released a new live-action trailer for its Norse epic. The trailer in question sees Ben Stiller (yes, of Dodgeball fame) dressed up as Kratos, as he leads a group therapy session with John Travolta, LeBron James and their children. Apparently, the father and son relationship we see in God of War between Kratos and Atreus is key to these famous faces nurturing their own parent-child bonds....

Microsoft has revealed the October line up for its Games with Gold Promotion, and there are some pretty decent games coming to both the Xbox One and Xbox 360. First up is the first-person exploration game Gone Home: Console Edition, which is free to download from October 1-31. This is closely followed by the atmospheric first-person puzzle game The Turing Test, which joins GWG halfway through the month on October 16....

A first look at the long overdue Course Maker tool for Gran Turismo 6 has been published by fansite GTPlanet, confirming the iOS and Android app will launch as a free download today.
