A new mod for God of War shows off something I never imagined - but now I’ve seen it, I can’t take my eyes off it: Homer and Bart Simpson stepping into the shoes of Kratos and Atreus. Oh, and you know The Stranger (wink wink) we all meet at the beginning of the game - well, thanks to this mod, he becomes the Hi-diddly-hoing Ned Flanders. The mod comes from Omega Fantasy (via IGN) and uses the character models from 2003’s The Simpson’s Hit and Run....

The Last Faith received a new gameplay trailer today during the Future Games Show. This new 2D gothic action-adventure game comes from publisher Playstack (which has published games like Mortal Shell) and developer Kumi Souls Games. The Last Faith is releasing on PC later this year. The game is described as a “dark, gothic alliance of Metroidvania and Soulslike.” It was originally revealed as a Kickstarter project back in 2020, and will be the debut game of the London-based independent studio Kumi Souls Games....

Alchemy is one of the best ways to make your Graveyard Keeper playthrough easy. Alchemy won’t be unlocked until you open the church. Once you do, you can start building alchemy workstations to create items and brew potions. The only other way to get ahold of these items is to pay high prices to the witch for a very limited amount of options. Most of the ingredients needed to craft potions can easily be taken from bodies or foraged from the environment around you....

These past few weeks, I’ve been beating the summer heat with a friggin’ mace, thanks to Griefhelm, a new indie fighting game from Johnny Dale Lonack and released by Thorrnet Publishing. The premise is simple enough: knights are gonna fight. Griefhelm is all about heavy, metal-clad warriors bashing, slicing, and skewering each other with other bits of metal. The game evokes the frantic action of Nidhogg, but with the more down-to-earth grit and ‘realistic’ combat of For Honor and Mordhau....

Grand Theft Auto Definitive Trilogy finally became legitimately available for PC players on Monday night, bringing hours of classic gameplay, and a boatload of glaring issues. For me, three things in particular stuck out and I simply couldn’t play the game comfortably until I found fixes. I’m going to lay out what each issue is and how to go about applying these fixes to the PC version of GTA Trilogy. Your mileage may vary, but I’m glad that there are already some workarounds despite how limited our time with the game has been as of yet....

Half-Life: Alyx, the newly announced VR game from developer Valve, could be the start of a revival for the long-dormant series. In an interview with The Verge, Valve programmer David Speyrer said, “It’s probably no surprise that many people at Valve have been wanting to get back to the Half-Life universe for a long time, and this experience has only reinforced that.” Speyrer then talked about how the development process for Half-Life: Alyx inspired the team to think about new potential games....

EA has unveiled the standard edition cover of FIFA 23 - and in doing so revealed the last ever FIFA cover created by EA. The two covers, below, show two different versions of the FIFA 23 standard edition. The first standard edition features PSG star Kylian Mbappé. As Eurogamer reported yesterday, Kerr and Mbappé share the cover of the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition. The inclusion of Kerr, who plays for Chelsea and Australia’s women’s teams and is widely considered one of the best female footballers in the world, marks the first time a female FIFA cover athlete is included on an internationally-released version of EA Sports’ long-running football game....

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie isn’t exactly filling us with a lot of confidence. First, we caught a look at a silhouette of the Blue Blur, showing off his oddly-muscular legs. Now, we’ve got our first glimpse at Sega’s platforming mascot in all his, erm, glory. Frankly, I’m probably not going to sleep well for another couple of weeks at least. He looks happy, which is nice, I suppose, but his gloves now appear to be made out of fur....

Hideo Kojima was speaking about Death Stranding at a San Diego Comic Con panel over the weekend, and he revealed that Keanu Reeves was recommended to him for the role of Clint in the game, but Kojima said ‘I wanted Mads [Mikkelsen].’ Asia Pacific Arts writer Kalai Chik (via WCCFTech) was tweeting from the panel, and thank God they were, because Kojima said some absolutely excellent things during it. As well as the Keanu tidbit, Kojima spoke about how Death Stranding is different to other video games on the market, and obviously he mentioned films too: ‘There’s no reason to create something that’s already there....
