Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is the second installment of the Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig’s franchise, and its success perhaps suggests that Agatha Christie-inspired stories could might end up as Hollywood’s next big thing. After all, it wasn’t long ago that the original Knives Out wasn’t even favored to become a franchise, and yet here we are: a combination of its success, Daniel Craig’s casting, and the endless possibilities of the whodunnit made it a sexy proposition for studios....

The 2018 reimagining of God of War put a major focus on the relationship between Kratos and a new character to the franchise - his son. The game’s themes are all built around redemption, breaking the cycle, and what the god of war is deciding to pass on to his only child. The format worked incredibly well and it’s one of the best-reviewed PS4 games released. Atreus goes through quite an ordeal in the game, but the third act reveals some surprising details that set the character up for an even more interesting story in the inevitable sequel....

Polyphony has dropped the new 1.11 patch for Gran Turismo 7, bringing promised tweaks to the game’s much-criticised credit system. As per the release notes, the latter half of the game’s World Circuit mode has had its payouts increased. On top of this, there’s three new events on the Tokyo Expressway, Heures du Mans and Sardegna circuits. Rewards in plenty of other modes have also been increased and/or tweaked, including Arcade, Custom and in Lobbies & Daily Races in Sports mode....

Polyphony Digital has lifted the bonet on the latest Gran Turismo Sport update, dropping off five flash new motors for you to take for a spin around the track. Gran Turismo Sport update 1.34 adds the Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) ’89, McLaren F1 GTR – BMW (Kokusai Kaihatsu UK Racing) ’95, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ’09, Pagani Huayra ’13, and the Toyota GR Supra RZ ’19. In addition, the new patch for the PlayStation 4-exclusive racer includes two new layouts for the Autopolis track, as well as various bug fixes....

Big new out of Warner Bros. today: a Green Lantern game is on the way to coincide with next year’s Green Lantern feature film. Titled Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, the game is being developed by Double Helix Games for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. Griptonite Games will be handling the DS version. Very little concrete information has been released, and we don’t yet know if Ryan Reynolds will be voicing Hal Jordan in the game....

Originally scheduled for release this month, Gungrave G.O.R.E. now won’t be arriving until 2020 thanks to a delay in development. We first heard about Gungrave G.O.R.E. back in August when it was announced ahead of this year’s Tokyo Games Show. The sequel to Gungrave: Overdose for the PlayStation 2, G.O.R.E.’s trailer showcased a dark, dystopian world where violence and crime run rampant. Game director Kay and producer Jun made the announcement on the Gungrave forums, saying that it took longer than expected to obtain artists and developers to finish the project....

Halo Infinite’s Tenrai event has finally arrived. It kicks off today, November 23, and features a slew of new rewards for players to earn through its 30-tier reward system. This event has been highly anticipated by the Halo community, so I’m sure many are ready to test their blades. Rewards earned during the event include new weapon skins, emblems, and a samurai-themed armor core. The Tenrai event is a big deal for both Halo Infinite and its developer, 343 Industries....

Multiplayer vehicle combat game Hardware Online will launch for PS4 on January 5 priced €20.99, having been in a PS Plus members beta earlier this year. Players can battle online across multiple maps and game modes, taking down opponents and collecting bonus bounties for defeating their biggest rivals. Choose to play as a team or go it alone. “We’ve been busy tweaking the game based on your feedback from October’s beta trial, and also putting the finishing touches on a ton of new stuff,” explained Daniel Durnin of the SCE Connected Content Group....

Sam Barlow, director of Her Story and Telling Lies, is recruiting for his next narrative experience which will delve into “darker and weirder” themes (via MCV/Develop). Barlow’s was the lead designer and writer on Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories over at Konami Entertainment. When he became independent, he wanted to produce games that prioritised “intimate setting, dialogue and character interaction”, and his debut title Her Story took the world by storm....

PIXOMONDO, the VFX team behind the special effects for the first season of Paramount’s Halo TV adaptation, has released a new reel showing off its work behind the scenes. Included in this reel are clips of Jen Taylor mocapping her character of Cortana, as well as the evolution of the series’ many digital environments. Taylor has famously voiced the role of Cortana throughout the Halo games, making her inclusion in the show a pretty special one for fans....

Hi-Fi Rush stealth-dropped onto PC yesterday, and it has already become a hit among players. On Steam, the game achieved an “overwhelmingly positive” rating based on over 500 user reviews as of this writing. Additionally, the game made its way to Steam’s “top sellers” list, an impressive accomplishment for a title released on such short notice. Of course, being a music-themed game, the soundtrack has become a particular highlight among players, featuring a variety of high-energy licensed rock songs from notable artists....

We’re almost a week into March, and Io Interactive has revealed what’s in store for the rest of the month. The studio released its Hitman 3 March roadmap today, detailing a big seasonal event. There’s also some new content in store and a game update later this month. All in all, it’s looking to be an action-packed month for Hitman 3. Perhaps the biggest news of the Hitman 3 March roadmap reveal is the game‘s very first seasonal event....

Destiny 2 will host a series of Fortnite cosmetics, a recent datamine of the game has revealed. Themed armour sets for each of Destiny’s three classes have been leaked, each showcasing a look based on a classic Fortnite skin (thanks, Ginsor). Bungie is yet to confirm the collaboration, which seems likely to be made official tomorrow night during its big Destiny 2 livestream. Artwork for the three skins is currently sitting within the game’s files - apparently ready to advertise the designs for sale within Destiny 2’s premium store Eververse....

Leamington Spa based studio Playground Games, the team behind the successful Forza Horizon series, is to set up a second studio to work on a brand new game, reports GamesIndustry. The second team will also be based in Leamington Spa, “ideally within walking distance” of the first office, and will work on a new open world game title, but not in the racing genre. “Opening another studio is something we’ve been talking about for a good few years, but we’ve been keen not to rush into it,” founder and creative director Ralph Fulton told GamesIndustry....

Twitch has been struggling to maintain streamers and this has been exacerbated by banning a fair number of their users. Naturally, bans have been introduced with rule violations, however, FOUSEYtube has had somewhat of a confusing month with Twitch. The streamer has had conflicting responses from Twitch and all of them have been devoid of any clarity, or at least any sense that his fans can see. FOUSEYtube has 10 million subscribers on YouTube, while his following on Twitch is significantly smaller with only 100,000 followers, and this added to the mystery of his first ban....
