IO Interactive has unzipped a fresh Hitman 2 gameplay trailer for you to gawk at, this time focusing on the game’s sun-soaked Miami stage. Here, we find stoic assassin Agent 47 stalking his latest victims against the backdrop of a motorsport race. It’s a day of ‘high-octane thrills and two very public targets,’ says 47’s mission briefing. Obviously, the sandbox playground of Hitman 2 allows you to get creative with your kills, with the trailer showing all sorts of weapons you can get your hands on....

Formula E driver Daniel Abt hired a professional gamer to race on his behalf in an esports race, and must pay £8,900 to charity for cheating (via BBC Sport). Lorenz Horzing, the gamer who pretended to be Abt, finished third in the latest race in Formula E’s Race at Home Challenge. Ex-F1 driver Stoffel Vandoorne suspected that Abt was not behind the wheel (metaphorically speaking) when he didn’t turn on his video during the race....

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is here and has brought back some of the game utilities which were Vaulted last Season. One such Utility is the Boom Sniper Rifle. The UK gaming calendar just got a new expo to mark in your diaries. MCM, the people behind London Comic Con, have announced GamerMania. GamerMania will be staged at ExCeL London between July 29-31 and promises to appeal to consumers and those within the industry. “The UK ranks as one of the top ten videogames markets in the world, with London a capital of gaming in Europe. GamerMania will fly the flag for the UK in the worldwide gaming industry and ExCel London, the capital’s largest exhibition venue, is excited to be a part of it,” said Jeremy Rees, ExCeL London’s executive director....

Game selling monopoly GameStop has advertised that people who pre-order Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will receive the ability to play as Cosmic Spider-Man. This “costume” will feature a “signature charge attack” and will be usable across all four realities in the game, of which we only know two, having watched the trailer. However, by posting a picture of each of the four realities’ version of Cosmic Spider-Man (above), GameStop inadvertently revealed that one of the realities will be Marvel 2099, evidenced by the 2099-esque spikes protruding from Spidey #4’s wrists....

Gears of War 4’s Season Pass will cost £39.99 in the UK, Microsoft has confirmed. The high price makes it one of the most expensive Season Passes released so far, putting it in line with Battlefield Premium and Star Wars: Battlefront’s Season Pass, the latter of which attracted criticism following its announcement last year. It’s also double the price of Gears of War 3’s Season Pass, which costs £19.99. Gears of War 4’s Season Pass grants players “permanent access” to 24 DLC multiplayer maps “for private play on dedicated servers”, plus an exclusive playlist that offers access to new maps, modes and features ahead of their public release....

Germany is considering a ban on loot boxes in video games sold to minors. The world is divided when it comes to loot boxes, those gifts given in games (but normally paid for via real-world money) that gives you a random chance to get certain kinds of loot. In most games, the loot is limited to cosmetic items. EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront II famously tried to lock much of the game’s content behind loot boxes until a player backlash eventually caused them to step down....

The deal means that you could get up to £91 credit for your Slim 250GB Xbox 360 or PS3, or around £60 for the original white Xbox 360. The remake of cult classic shooter XIII is coming in 2020, and publisher Microids has released screenshots of the game. The screenshots show off some improved graphics and lighting, but fans of the original may be disappointed that the new look doesn’t quite embrace the comic book styling to the same degree that the original PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox versions did. The game is based on a Belgian graphic novel series of the same name, and boasts cell-shaded graphics and on-screen sound effects that are meant to reflect the comic book roots of the series....

The last thing most AAA game publishers want to do is get political. One just has to say the name “Blizzard” to show what happens when a company is even assumed to take a political side. Even flashing a message about how the game is “based on real world events” but not meant to make a direct statement doesn’t always help. Hot on the heels of the Apple Arcade service, the Google Play Pass is now available for Android users. Similar in theme, the Play Pass looks to surpass Apple’s offering with access to 350 apps that are free of ads and in-app purchases. The number dwarfs the initial offering by Apple of 100 games, although it appears that the Play Pass may have a bunch of duplicate games on their service in order to bolster its numbers....

The term “Old Friends” has been teased in the Total War community for quite some time. Players wondered what these hints were and, truth be told, a lot of the speculation often led to the announcement of Gotrek and Felix. Well, say goodbye to guessing because the slayer and his swordsman-poet friend will be part of Total War: Warhammer 2 as DLC this month. There’s just one caveat: You’ll need to get an issue of Games Workshop’s White Dwarf magazine… for now, at least....

It has been over six years since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, and indeed this multiplayer offering is still going strong. In part, this is due to Rockstar’s continued support of GTA Online, which manifest most recently with the release of the Diamond Casino Heist at the end of last year, and now the developer is giving fans yet another reason to play by offering them a cool $1 million....
