The Russian version of Gotham Knights has allegedly been cancelled. That’s according to The Happy Warrior, which says sources at Warner Bros. Montreal have confirmed the publisher has cancelled the Russian version “due to the political fallout from the Russian invasion of Ukraine”. The rumour is further compounded by confirmation that Gotham Knight’s Russian sub-site has been taken offline; the URL now results in a 404 error (it was still live as at 12th May, according to archive....

This is a spoiler-free review based on the first four episodes of Hanna. As far as adaptations go, Hanna isn’t precious about its source material, which is somewhat surprising given the fact the TV show is written by the feature’s co-scriptwriter David Farr, who also adapted similarly suspense-driven The Night Manager for the TV serial format. The Hanna TV show follows a similar plot as the feature film it’s based on, but Farr thankfully understands that an eight-hour television show is a very different format than a two-hour movie, and restructures the story to fill the space in compelling ways....

Anthem isn’t a great game. But it’s also not a terrible game. Kotaku’s Jason Scherier recently reported game studio BioWare is giving the game a massive overhaul. Parent company Electronic Arts has high hopes as to the possibility of saving the faltering title, which was seven years in the making. In spite of failing to meet expectations, Anthem is objectively better than hundreds of games that come out every year. But if BioWare wants to save the game, it needs to hone in on a few critical changes that will make Anthem fundamentally better....

Fortnite has today seen a brief period of downtime, as developer Epic Games rushed out a much-needed maintenance patch to fix a major issue with one of the game’s most-used items. The Shockwave Hammer, introduced last month alongside the game’s bumper Chapter 4 revamp, was disabled yesterday in several of Fortnite’s competitive modes as a glitch which allowed players to repeatedly spam the item became rampant. Players have taken to social media over the past week to brand the game as “unplayable” after the glitch’s use spread - allowing players to jump around the map non-stop, without the item’s usual cooldown....

Following up on leaked information from Bandai Namco’s website earlier this week, a new CG trailer for From Software’s upcoming Elden Ring action RPG was released at Xbox’s E3 2019 conference. Microsoft has announced September’s Xbox Games with Gold lineup. Excellent dungeon crawler Gods Will Fall is available to download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S from 1st to 30th September. “Numinous landscapes and skull-rattling combat combine in this leftfield classic,” Donlan wrote in Eurogamer’s Gods Will Fall review from 2021. Those who have been thinking that in-person gaming events are dead may want to hold off on the funeral because they aren’t, as proven by Gamescom 2022. The organizer of the event that concluded today at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, reached out with a press release mentioning that the event drew 265,000 visitors from over 100 countries across its five days.
