Epic Games is putting together another massive Fortnite crossover event. Massive in the sense of what it will be crossing over with, as the event itself will be rather straightforward. According to an in-game message found at the Risky Reels drive-thru theater, Fortnite will be hosting a special crossover with the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Players will be able to watch an exclusive scene reveal from the upcoming Star Wars film, but only if they’re in a match at the right time....

Epic Games has today rolled out Fortnite’s update 21.51 on all platforms, which primarily adds the ‘Fire with Fire’ week to the Battle Royale title. It also makes changes to the purchase, cancellation and social settings of the game. The Fire with Fire week, as detailed in the official Fortnite blog post, will start on Sept. 7 at 9am ET, and will finish on Sept. 13, at 9am ET. This ‘wild week’ as their known in-game, will unvault the Primal Flame Bow and Dragon’s Breath Shotgun in non-competitive playlists....

The Forza Horizon franchise is about to hit its 10-year milestone. Playground Games is celebrating this momentous achievement with a fresh update for Forza Horizon 5. A returning music track selection, new racing events, and more are all on the party list, set to drop in the Anniversary Update that’s scheduled for October 11. This upcoming update will include an all-new Horizon Story, which Playground describes as “exploring the origins of the Forza Horizon series....

FromSoftware, the Japanese studio behind games like Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is working on “several projects.” The developer has launched a recruitment website, and there are dozens of roles on there. FromSoftware says that it is “looking for development staff to be at the core of several new projects.” Hidetaka Miyazaki, the studio’s president, has spoken in an interview with 4Gamer. In the interview, Miyazaki says that another project is nearing completion....

Retailer GameStop is closing 55 stores in the United States after holidays sales dropped. The company had confirmed that it would be changing some GameStop stores to try and get more customers in them, but it seems that several stores will just be closed. The site GSClosing, which tracks all of the GameStop closures, confirmed that 55 stores in the United States are closing between December and January. The site, which isn’t run by GameStop, said that there are 10 stores having closing sales in California, seven having closing sales in Florida, six having closing sales in New Jersey, and five having closing sales in New York....
