Sega and Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog movie is a huge box office success, and it is now the film adaptation of a video game with the biggest opening weekend in history. Now Sonic fans have come out of the woodwork to support the blue blur, including Santa Monica Studio’s Art Director Raf Grassetti. Grassetti uploaded a collection of Sonic the Hedgehog pieces to Twitter this morning that showcase the series’ main trio — Sonic, Miles “Tails” Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna — in a live-action, realistically furry style that is similar to the new movie’s aesthetic....

Today, Warner Bros. Games announced a new release date for its action-RPG Gotham Knights. The game, which was previously delayed from its 2021 release window, will now launch on October 25, 2022, for PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can find the announcement below. Grand Theft Auto Vice City was a divisive game when it gained mainstream attention, but few can deny just how iconic and nostalgic it was for anyone who grew up during the 1980s. Marcus Lehto —co-creator of the Halo series—has announced he’ll head up a new studio in the Seattle area for EA. As per GamesIndustry.biz the new outfit hasn’t got a name, but will apparently focus on creating first person games. It’ll be the second new studio in the area EA have setup in recent months following the one headed up by ex-Monolith head Kevin Stephens. While not confirmed, it’s believed that one will be going under the moniker Neon Black studios....

Halo: Combat Evolved’s new PC port has finally begun beta testing. After 343 Industries encountered an error with Halo Wars 2 that necessitated delaying The Master Chief Collection’s rollout on PC, everything is back on track for an eventual release of this Xbox classic. The current beta includes four campaign missions and some matchmaking content for players to work through. Invites to the beta should be going out to Halo Insider members....

Halo Infinite isn’t in a great place right now. Following the early launch of its well-received free-to-play multiplayer mode and the subsequent resounding critical reception of its single-player campaign, all the fanfare and hype has firmly subsided as the truths of what can only be described as lackluster post-launch support have been laid bare. Now, 343 Industries seems intent on a last-ditch effort to save Xbox’s flagship IP with a Battle Royale mode that feels like a rushed and poorly considered bandaid over a much bigger problem....

Hideo Kojima, founder of Kojima Productions and director of Death Stranding, recently got a pitch for a new project rejected (via Siliconera). Expectedly, the auteur didn’t name names, but admitted that it is “something that happens often in this industry,” even to those who wrote Policenauts.
