Another one for the rumour pile, as a PS Store listing seems to point to Gotham Knights expanding its co-op mode to accommodate four players. Users on Reddit (as first reported by PC GamesN) spotted a quiet update to the game’s PS Store page over the weekend. While the game has had co-op confirmed for some time, the game’s Online sections now claim it supports “up to 4 online players with PS Plus”....

Publisher Arc System Works has confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive, the upcoming installment in its fan-favorite fighting series, will be getting a closed beta sometime this spring. After making a small tour to America and Japan at certain fighting tournaments, attendees of EVO Japan 2020 will be among the first to sign-up for beta access. If you can’t quite make it to the land of the rising sun, don’t fear. Strive will be making its first appearance of 2020 at Frosty Faustings 2020....
Halo 5: Live, a six hour live broadcast on YouTube, will take place in the final hours up to the midnight launch of the game in North America, Microsoft has announced. The broadcast promises exclusive gameplay reveals, celebrity appearances, live interviews with the 343 Industries development team and more. The stream begins at 6pm PDT, which is the rather unsociable time of 2am here in the UK. “Halo 5: Guardians is the game we have always dreamed of making, and it was important to us that Halo fans in every corner of the world could join us in an epic-scale launch celebration,” said Bonnie Ross, corporate vice president and head of 343 Industries....
After six years, Halo Infinite is out. Both its online multiplayer and full campaign are available to play, and the word is that it’s a great package overall. There is still some work to be done, and features to be implemented, but things are at last looking up for the Master Chief. Halo Infinite takes place more than a year after Halo 5: Guardians. The Chief finds himself stranded on a Banished-controlled Zeta Halo....
Halo Infinite’s creative director, Tim Longo, has left 343 Industries, Kotaku has reported. The release window isn’t changing, though: the game is still scheduled to launch at the same time as Project Scarlett, next Christmas. In a statement issued about Longo leaving its first-party developer, Microsoft said, ‘we are truly thankful for [Tim Longo’s] many contributions to our games, our studio and the Halo universe. We wish Tim nothing but the best in his future endeavours....
343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Infinite will have a free-to-play multiplayer mode. Speculation swirled when a listing from British and Irish retailer Smyths stated: “The legendary Halo series returns with the most expansive Master Chief campaign yet and a groundbreaking free-to-play multiplayer experience.” The listing for Halo Infinite disappeared, and then the developer did confirm that this was the case in its own Tweet. Halo Infinite will be released for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in holiday 2020....
Recently, Blizzard issued a statement about its on-going Hong Kong controversy that began when it banned Hearthstone Pro Ng Wai Chung, better known as “Blitzchung,” for calling for the liberation of Hong Kong from the Chinese Community Party. Blizzard did walk back the punishment’s severity, cutting the ban time in half and restoring Blitzchung’s prize money, all of which solicited a reply from Blitzchung. However, Blitzchung’s sentiment hit home for several Hearthstone players, who also used the game in a way to call for support of the Hong Kong movement....
Epic could be on the verge of launching the game in China as early as next week according to a cryptic image posted this evening. In the image below it shows a passport with the date stamp of 23 April 2018 which is next Monday. With the game doing so well in the western markets, as soon as it hits China it will likely explode. Prepare for some ridiculous player number stats to appear in the next few weeks if Epic manages to pull off a perfect launch....
Fortnite, the game that every man and his dog is apparently playing nowadays, looks set to receive a new item in the shape of the Freeze Trap. That’s at least according to data-mining Twitter account FNBRLeaks, which has discovered that the battle royale version of Epic Games’ shooter phenomenon will be equipped with the weapon soon. Given that Fortnite usually updates on a Tuesday, we might see the Freeze Trap as soon as tomorrow....
Nearly every Fortnite player has at some point purchased V-Bucks, the in-game currency used to buy cosmetics such as emotes and skins– including the Always Fantabulous Harley Quinn skin. In fact, many of the children that make up a chunk of the battle royale’s large fanbase save up their allowances to buy V-Bucks for the game. That’s why many Fortnite fans were shocked to hear the recent news from the Internal Revenue Service suggesting that players may have to pay taxes on V-Bucks....
Publisher Deep Silver has announced that it is reforming Free Radical Design—the Nottingham-based studio responsible for the TimeSplitters series—with two of its original founders to work on a brand new TimeSplitters game. In the announcement, Deep Silver said “You asked and we listened. We have been working on plans to bring the TimeSplitters franchise back to life, and are pleased to let you know that we are setting up a new Deep Silver development studio to do just that....
The future return of the National Dex has been thrown into further doubt as Junichi Masuda has confirmed that future games in the Pokémon series will also feature a reduced number of monsters. Pokémon Sword & Shield has been the source of controversy since E3 2019 when it was revealed that not all of the Pokémon from the series would be returning. Masuda announced during a Treehouse Live event that the only Pokémon available in the games would be the ones from the Galar region and that the National Dex would no longer be present....
For years, Dave Bautista, known simply as Batista during his time in the WWE, has been campaigning to get a role in the Gears of War movie. While Batista has yet to be cast in the Gears of War movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy star and former WWE Champion will have a role in the upcoming Gears 5 video game. As announced by Batista on Twitter, “The Animal” is coming to Gears 5 as a playable character on September 15....
The original Gears of War is being remastered for Xbox One, Microsoft has finally confirmed. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition features the original Xbox 360 game remastered in 1080p and is due to launch exclusively on Xbox One on August 25. The game’s multiplayer will run at 60fps on Xbox One, too, although a single-player framerate has yet to be revealed. And if you can’t wait until August to give it a go, you can play it today by downloading the beta....
