Action adventure Ghost of Tsushima will indeed be getting an expansion pack and a Director’s Cut this August, Sucker Punch has confirmed. As per the PlayStation Blog, the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut will include all the content released for the game to date, but also include a new Iki Island expansion. While more details will be shared soon, for now we’re told Jin will travel to the new island to investigate rumours of a Mongol presence....

A new God of War gameplay trailer debuted at PlayStation’s Paris Games Week presser, showing off Kratos working with his son in combat. While its very brief, there are moments where you can hear his child shouting warnings at his dad when an attack is coming. You can also see him dropkicking a baddie into his oul fella’s grasp before being chucked away. You can have a look at the video below to see how it all plays out....

Warner Bros has dropped its fourth and final character trailer for upcoming DC action RPG Gotham Knights, this time focusing on the Red Hood. The anti-hero known as Red Hood is the alias of one Jason Todd. As per his blurb, he’s been killed violently by one of Batman’s “most dangerous” foes. (Although they’re staying coy as to who.) Not one to let death stop him though, he’s back thanks to a forced trip to the Lazarus Pit....

Take-Two has talked bullishly of its hopes for the success of Grand Theft Auto 6, amidst a mixed picture of financial results. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick blamed a “softer economy” for a downturn in revenue for both halves of the now-combined Take-Two and mobile giant Zynga. The now-completed buyout has also left a $117m hole in the company’s bottom line due to business acquisition costs. “We feel like this is a great start,” Zelnick said....

Relentless streamer Ben “CohhCarnage” Cassell has recently completed a 2,000 consecutive day streak streaming games via Twitch. Even for people who are crazy over video games, 2,000 days of straight streaming seems like a huge stretch. Yet Cassel, who had two children during this remarkable run, did not miss a single day since he started five years ago, keeping things going through holidays, illness, birthdays and births for at least 30 minutes a day but 6-10 hours per day on average....

Daybreak Games has released the largest update of 2017 for its arena shooter, H1Z1: King of the Kill. This H1Z1 is technically not the same game as the H1Z1 that changed its name to Just Survive, but they are made by the same company. So that’s nice and easy. The Combat Update introduces the Hellfire 4-6 submachine gun, while also making big changes to the game’s combat movement and gunplay mechanics....

With only a few hours left of 2019, Half-Life’s G-Man (and by extension, the character’s long-time voice actor Mike Shapiro) have stepped in to wish all fans on Twitter a happy and very creepy New Year. Shapiro posted a short video to his personal Twitter account containing a monologue from G-Man, complete with all the unnerving vocal tics that fans will remember. It’s been over 12 years since Shapiro has delivered lines for G-Man, and with the new franchise title Half-Life: Alyx finally on its way and slated for 2020, this New Years’ Eve message has perfect timing....

Hardware Rivals, the arcade-style vehicle combat game, will launch a PS Plus-exclusive multiplayer beta starting tomorrow, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced. All PS Plus members will be able to download the beta from the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store – a new feature found in tomorrow’s PS4 System Software 3.00. Once you launch the game you’ll be given given a beta key – if one is available – and you’ll be able to begin playing immediately....

Voldemort, the Dark Lord, doesn’t seem the type to have kids. I mean, he’s got a face only a Death Eater could love, he’s obsessed with defeating Harry Potter, and he is more of a living smoke wisp than an actual person. It may surprise you to note that Voldemort did indeed take some time to procreate and contribute to the surplus population. In J.K. Rowling’s play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we were introduced to Delphini, a young woman who ended up revealing herself as Voldemort’s daughter....

EA has released the first shot of this year’s Need For Speed ahead of its full reveal tomorrow. The shot follows shortly after a tease earlier this week suggesting that this year’s game could mark the return of Need For Speed Underground, one of the most popular series within the Need For Speed franchise. Further details, including the first trailer, are expected to be revealed tomorrow, with the game due to launch between October and December this year....

IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 will be getting a Year Two of additional content coming to the assassination game next year. The Danish studio gave an update to fans via a video and blog post, revealing that it will kick off this Year Two on 20 January with a roadmap of new content. However, before that the studio has teased some of the additions fans can expect. These include new maps, new storylines and new game modes....

If you’ve ever thought about what it would be like to see the world from Agent 47’s eyes, you’re in luck as Hitman 3 is coming out in VR. Showcased recently during PlayStation’s State of Play Livestream on 7th August 2020. Hitman 3 VR brings a total immersion into the world of the assassin as you stalk your prey, find different ways to kill, and strike at the perfect opportunity. Though the trailer did not show much, the sight of using your fiber wire on your target does seem appealing....

On Tuesday, March 3, Fortnite update 12.10 brought a number of bug fixes and new items to Epic Game’s battle royale sensation. The update also made changes to the game files for data miners to peruse, and some unannounced information about the future of Fortnite has already been unearthed. Among this information are details on the upcoming Season 2 challenges, and indeed the week three and four challenge requirements are now known in full....

Microsoft has revealed in a listing on its official website that a demo of Forza Horizon 4 will be available later today. There’s no exact time frame for the demo’s release, though it’s clearly pencilled in for launch on September 12. In addition, the info page confirms the Forza Horizon 4 demo will weigh in at around 27.8GB. Microsoft and developer Playground Games have yet to reveal any additional details on the demo, so we’ll have to play the waiting game for now....

The online servers for the Dark Souls games have gone through a lot this year. Just before the release of Elden Ring near the beginning of 2022, FromSoftware announced that it had to remove all online functionality from its Dark Souls games on PC due to some dangerous security issues. Just a few months ago, the studio announced that Dark Souls 3 was up and running again, but patient fans were still waiting to hear news about the first two games in the series....

Over the last couple of weeks, game development companies have been dropping out of the Game Developer’s Conference (aka GDC) left and right due to concerns about the recent outbreak of novel coronavirus that has the world on edge. Finally, GDC lost one major developer too many, and earlier today announced that the conference would be postponed altogether until this summer–but that decision is already taking its toll on smaller developers....

While at GDC we went eyes-on with an early, pre-alpha, build of the upcoming LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game. The guided (and limited) playthrough focused on showing the mechanics that make Pirates a great fit for the LEGO treatment, along with demonstrating the fun gameplay elements that will be incorporated into the game, as well as how these elements will make the title feel unique and different from the other LEGO games....
