It’s always a rush to carefully explore the darkness, feeling unsure of what exactly you’ll find. Hidden Deep, which enters Early Access today, is very much about careful navigation and surviving bleak situations. As you might expect, the game isn’t easy, and it doesn’t hold back with requiring you to start lengthy sections from the beginning if you make too many mistakes. But it does a great job of building tension while making for a captivating push as you explore deeper into perilous places, alongside a militaristic theme reminiscent of some of the Alien movies....

Publisher and developer Square Enix, known for franchises like Final Fantasy, has today announced it’s cutting ties with IO Interactive. IO is the developer behind the Hitman series. Square Enix Europe acquired IO in 2009, when it bought Eidos Interactive (Eidos itself acquired IO in 2003). In the notice linked above, Square said ‘To maximize player satisfaction as well as market potential going forward, we are focusing our resources and energies on key franchises and studios....

Square Enix and Luminos Productions are gearing up to release their open world action RPG Forspoken this week, with gamers keen to try out this magical adventure. The setup is a tried and tested fish-out-of-water story, as modern day New York resident Fey finds herself mysteriously transported to the fantasy world of Athia. Swapping smartphones and snapchats for magical bracelets and fantastical powers, Fey will find herself trying to survive this strange new world – and saving it from a tyrannical rule while she’s at it....

While we have known about the Sept. 18 release date for a good while by now, the release time was still unknown. However, a new tweet by the Fortnite Status Twitter account gives us exactly when the servers will go down for maintenance to implement the patch 22.00 that will be bringing Chapter 3 Season 4. The tweet reads: We don’t know the size of the patch ahead of time to give any sort of heads-up on it, so you will have to find that out for yourself....

343 Industries has confirmed that the upcoming Halo Infinite will be missing campaign co-op and Forge mode at launch. The news came as part of the most recent Developer Update video from the studio over the weekend. Head of creative Joseph Staten apologised for the delay, admitting campaign co-op was “fundamental” to the Halo experience. However, so the game could meet its intended launch window, they made the “really tough decision” to delay the mode....
