Here’s a bit of a strange one. The Junk Rift has been unvaulted in Fortnite, bringing another game changing throwable into the mix. For those who maybe don’t remember the Junk Rift, it’s similar to a Rift-to-Go in that it opens a portal, but instead of giving you escape, it brings an object down like a meteor. This object acts almost like a bunker buster and can put something like a porta-potty through an opponents buildings doing impact and shockwave damage....

Good Old Games’ PR and marketing manager, Lukasz Kukawski, argued DRM may actually cause piracy. He also made it clear that DRM’s effectiveness as a piracy deterrent is none or close to none. While Kukawski admitted his view is not popular in the gaming industry, he stated that in his opinion, DRM drives people to pirate games rather than prevent them from doing it. Good Old Games seems to support Kukawski’s view though, so it is not as if he is just making wild comments....

Rockstar’s ode to the 80s was part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Remastered Collection and will now be added to PlayStation Now as a standalone game. 343 Industries surprised Halo fans the other day with an early release of Halo 3 for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The release included the full campaign and multiplayer for Halo 3, in addition to a much larger update. Season 2 cosmetics are now live for Halo 1 and the Forge custom map-maker is finally available for all games. The developer also included a global update that fixed various bugs and provided additional customization options....
Natsume recently streamed gameplay for its upcoming title Harvest Moon: Mad Dash on both the PS4 and Switch, showcasing the game’s mini-game like mechanics and adorable graphics. Harvest Moon was released on the Super Nintendo in August of 1996, receiving immediate praise from critics. Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has addressed the persistant internet rumours that he has something to do with PlayStation 5 vapourware project Abandoned. Blue Box, the developer of Abandoned, gained internet fame for continually teasing that there was more to its survival horror game than met the eye. Fans pounced on the suggestion it was linked to Kojima, or was one of the many Silent Hill projects in production. Neither is the case....
Epic Games has announced it’s tag-teaming with the WWE for an Epic SummerSlam event, offering a bunch of themed cosmetics in Fortnite, Fall Guys and Rocket League. Players of all three of Epic’s offerings will be able to pick up these cosmetics in each game’s respective stores from July 28. First up will be two decals for Rocket League – one based on current WWE Champion Roman Reigns. The other is based on sixteen time WWE champion and Peacemaker star John Cena, in his iconic green....

GDC 2020 will no longer be a physical event and instead will take the form of a digital event which is “available to everyone with an internet connection.” (via VGC). GDC 2020 had been moved from March to August, after confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States spiked significantly in the early months of this year. However, the crisis continues with little evidence that the country is recovering. “As so many game developers embrace remote working arrangements and online collaboration, we’re inspired to adapt and deliver GDC in a digital format that will be available to everyone with an internet connection,” said Informa Tech....
