Elden Ring developer FromSoftware may be looking at a return to their mech-based Armored Core series as per a consumer survey. A user on the Resetera forums by the name of Red Liquorice claims to have received the survey. (Spotted by Video Games Chronicle) Included within, he says, is a description, screenshots and even a 30 second video. The game’s described as a third person “mecha action title” set “on the planet of Bashtar, a sci-fi world devastated by a planet-wide disaster with an overwhelming sense of scale that only mecha can provide”....

Every year as the heat of summer beats down upon us, the Game Critics Awards are announced for the “Best of E3.” Sure enough, the conglomerate of 31 North American media outlets have just released the list of this year’s winners, and there are some definitely some surprises. We already reported on this year’s nominees, so you can get reacquainted with them here. Going in, games like Bethesda’s Rage and Disney’s Epic Mickey hoarded a lot of nominations, and Electronic Arts led the way in terms of publisher nods....

I think a lot of people would agree that 2017 was one of the best years for video game releases we have seen it quite some time. A couple of new features have been added to Genshin Impact as part of the version 1.3 “All That Glitters” update. The alchemy bench can transmute gemstones using Dust of Azoth. Publisher 505 Games has announced it’ll be publishing a sequel to last year’s first-person ninja parkour adventure Ghostrunner. While details are understandably sparse, Ghostrunner 2 will see One More Level return to development duties to follow up their work on the first game, and it’ll be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. No release date has yet been given, but more details are promised soon. In a statement posted to the game’s official Twitter account, 505 Games parent company Digital Bros Entertainment touted the success of the first game, saying it’s sold over 600,000 copies so far and still has plans to bring a next-gen version of the first game to the XSX|S and PS5 later this year....

First-person ninja parkour game Ghostrunner has received an update adding two new game modes, alongside a premium Neon Pack DLC. The first of these two free new modes is Wave Mode which, as the name suggests, puts you against waves of enemies. You’ll have to defeat as many of the procedurally generated waves as you can while you get upgrades between each one. Make it past wave 20, and you’ll unlock yourself an exclusive sword....

Ghostwire Tokyo, a new action adventure game from Shinji Mikami’s Tango Gameworks was announced at Bethesda’s E3 2019 conference. The game diverges from the survival horror Evil Within series to focus on investigations of paranormal events. People are vanishing in Tokyo, and the player must investigate whether the causes are supernatural or more mundane. In the course of the game, the player will interact with spirits taken from Japanese mythology, occult conspiracies, and survivors of the strange events in Tokyo....

Indie god game Reus is coming to PS4 and Xbox One this autumn, Soedesco has announced. The game will be available on console both physically and digitally. Reus puts players in control of four unique giants capable of terraforming the planet and providing resources to help humanity survive and grow. The game originally launched on PC back in 2013. God of War series has been going on for a long time, and it started back on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. Since then, it’s had titles out for the PlayStation Portable and some even for the mobile market, as well as the heavy hitters on the PlayStation consoles. Sony Santa Monica Studio has announced that God of War has hit gold status, meaning development is now complete and ready to enter manufacturing ahead of its release on April 20. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, God of War Director Cory Barlog described the development process ‘long and exhausting’ punctuated by ‘laughs, arguments, and a healthy dose of fear – with a side of doubt.’ It’s been a long time coming that’s for sure; the last God of War game was released five years ago on the PlayStation 3....

Back at the 2015 PlayStation Experience event, Highwire Games, a studio comprised of former Bungie developers that have worked on the likes of Destiny and Halo, revealed a brand new IP called Golem. The game’s initial announcement trailer was impressive, but we haven’t heard or seen much of it since then. But as it turns out, the wait for Golem is nearly over, as its release date has finally been confirmed....

Google has stated that the Founder’s and Premiere Editions of Stadia will be shipped on a first-come first-served schedule, so people who have pre-ordered the streaming service may not receive their bundle at launch (via The Verge). Google Stadia Founder’s Edition was selling like hot cakes in Europe, and Google had to formally announce that the bundle had sold out worldwide and that the new Premiere Edition would be introduced to replace it....

Grand Theft Auto Online players have a cash prize waiting for them, starting now. Rockstar Games announced today that it’s celebrating Grand Theft Auto Online’s anniversary with a special event. To kick off the event in style, Rockstar will be giving away a cash prize of GTA$1,00,000 just for logging in between now and October 2nd. The cash may take as long as October 9th to be delivered to each player’s Maze Bank account, but there’s plenty else to keep them busy....

Today 343 industries released a new video showcasing the goodies that will be available in Halo Infinite with the Winter Update Battle Pass. The Battle Pass will be free and will include thirty tiers of rewards. The developer team has also tuned the system so that players can move faster through said rewards. Some of the goodies that you can unlock are the Mark V armor core from Halo Reach, alongside accessories and emblems, the Sardonic visor, the Bullfrog visor, the CQB helmet, the CQC Helmet, the SIMA chest piece, the MOA Assault coating, various helmet attachments, knees, and shoulders, XP boosts, and more....

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has surpassed 50 million registered players worldwide, Blizzard has announced. The news comes as Whispers of the Old God, the game’s third expansion, launches in Europe, bringing 134 new cards to the game. “Whispers of the Old Gods adds an exciting new set of creepy, corrupted cards to Hearthstone,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We can’t wait to see how creative players are with the ancient evil of the Old Gods in their hands....

Those familiar with The Witcher know that an image of Geralt of Rivia relaxing in a bathtub has become an iconic staple of the series. Of course, Netflix recreated this scene in their live action adaptation of the story, but despite Henry Cavill trying to make it happen, one small detail was missing from the scene: Geralt’s feet hanging out of the water and resting on the tub. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Cavill explained that he had tried to put his feet up in order to match the iconic image of Geralt bathing in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but “the bath was the wrong shape....
