Fortnite fans might notice something a little off about the game today. The game’s Junk Rift item is currently pulled from the game and can’t be used. The announcement regarding this change was made by Epic Games suddenly. In a Tweet on the official Fortnite account, Epic revealed that the Junk Rift item would be temporarily disabled. At this time, it has not offered an explanation as to why, but the tweet does note that more information will be provided once it’s available....

Game engine maker Unity is donating $623k to humanitarian charities in the wake of Russia’s devastating invasion of Ukraine. Details from the company this afternoon included plans to support relief organisations throughout the year with money from company reserves and donations from employees, which will be triple-matched by execs. Two further initiatives will run throughout this year - a Ukraine Mega Bundle of assets donated from around the world, which will be sold with 100 percent of proceeds going to charity....

Attention: God of War has been announced for PC. This is not a drill. Santa Monica Studios’ groundbreaking 2018 action game has been most likely at the top of the list of what PlayStation exclusives PC owners desired. Earlier today, Sony confirmed that the game is heading our way at last, and it’s not going to be a barebones port. God of War on PC will land on January 14, 2022, bringing 4K visuals, DLSS support, uncapped framerates, and a lot more....

Today South Korean game developer Shift Up released a new trailer, screenshots, and art of its upcoming mobile game Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. The new assets come with the confirmation that the game will be released in English and you can already register for the closed beta, which is open only for the US. If you’re unfamiliar with the Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, which is coming for iOS and Android, it was originally revealed at an event in 2019 alongside Project EVE (which is coming to PS5), and then showcased again at the end of 2020....

GOG Galaxy, the gaming client designed to take the hassle out of PC gaming, will exit beta with release version 1.2, GOG has announced. The major addition of 1.2 is Universal Cloud Saves. The new feature makes it possible to add cloud saving functionality not only to new games, but also to titles that never offered cloud saving before. This means titles like Planescape: Torment, Dragon Age Origins, Heroes of Might & Magic III, and Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines will gain benefits of saves syncing and cloud backup for the first time ever....

Jason Roberts’ critically acclaimed brain-teasing puzzler Gorogoa is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year, publisher Annapura has announced. Gorogoa was originally released on mobile, PC, and Switch last year and is, well, an interesting and difficulty game to try to explain. You’re essentially presented with a series of panel-paintings that can be manipulated by the player, allowing you venture into and explore them, finding a connection that links all four images together so that you can progress to the next stage....

Paramount’s Summer Loving will explore the events detailed in “Summer Nights,” the relentless earworm Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) sang to their respective friends in Randal Kleiser’s 1978 hit, Grease. The retrospectively problematic one about how they first met and fell for each other, and whether Sandy put up a fight....

Publisher Nacon and Developer Spiders have just announced GreedFall 2 – The Dying World. GreedFall 2 will release on PC in 2024 and looks to build upon the success of the first game. The first GreedFall was a well-received action RPG from 2019, and it has sold over 1 million copies. With the announcement, the studio revealed some key details about the new sequel. It will be an RPG with a strong focus on story and player choice....

Hotel X Toronto, an upscale hotel in Toronto, ON (part of the Library Hotel Collection, a small chain of hotels primarily located in New York City) just announced that it’s teaming up with Nintendo of Canada to offer a Nintendo Switch-centric experience in a dedicated suite. From March 11 to March 26, Hotel X will be transforming its presidential suite, one of its largest rooms, into the Nintendo Switch Suite. The room can be booked for a non-overnight period of time, from 3:00pm to 11:00pm, intended to provide guests with a social gaming experience in a luxurious hotel environment, rather than a traditional overnight stay....

Halo 4 has topped the Xbox LIVE activity chart for the week of November 5, based on global unique users connected to Xbox LIVE. The game launched worldwide on November 6 and was always going to head straight to the top of the chart. Halo Infinite will no longer launch later this year for Xbox Series X, PC, and Xbox One, because 343 Industries has delayed development of the game. “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision,” began the statement supplied by Chris Lee, studio head at 343 Industries. When the game’s campaign was revealed in the latest Xbox Games Showcase, it was largely derided for its “flat” art direction and the apparent staleness of its features and mechanics....
