An upcoming update on Fortnite will ensure, for the most part, that players are only competing with and against those using the same peripherals. Fortnite is currently dominating the video game world. The free-to-play battle royale mode has been around for less than a year yet already boasts tens of millions of players. That number will only continue to grow now that Fortnite is available on Android. In fact, Fortnite’s developers, Epic believe that as many as 250 million people will download the game on Android....

Let’s be real, the entire battle royale genre has been an evolution of games. Many might debate where the true origination of the genre really stems from. However, one can definitely argue that Fortnite has been the most profitable of them. As predicted the meteor hit the island and that means there are now changes to the Fortnite Battle Royale Map. Tilted Towers managed to avoid the collision despite everyone thinking it was a goner. Instead, the meteor hit Dusty Depot which is now a massive crater and it looks like the scientists have rushed in with portable labs to investigate. Also, the area has been renamed to Dusty Divot. Epic has changed the eastern side of the map and Risky Reels in the top right by the Walling Woods is a drive-in cinema that’s seen better days....

Nintendo has had limited luck in the mobile space, but Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp stands as one of its continued success stories. Today, more than four years after the campsite sim first went live, a fresh update has added several new features and another optional monthly subscription. The number of animals you can invite to your campsite has been doubled from eight to 16, and the game now hosts a Pocket Planner diary where you can track in-game events....

Sega’s Game Gear Micro is a miniature version of its handheld game console released in 1990, and it comes in four colours with four sets of games (via Gematsu). The product will launch on October 6 in Japan, priced at JP¥ 4,980, and there will be a bundle for all four colours of the Game Gear Micro, priced at JP¥ 29,980. Bloodborne Kart developer Lilith Walther has shared the latest character they’ve added to the game: Gehrman, The First Hunter. Walther is widely known for their detailed and excellent Bloodborne PSX demake, and has been working on the racing project since March. Their latest update shows off Gehrman, the elderly gentleman who hangs around the workshop inside the Hunter’s Dream, though I suspect he’s been modding his ride a bit. Gehrman races in the wheelchair he uses in-game, still holding onto his cane, but he now has a massive engine strapped to the back of it to propel him around....

Enkanomiya teleporters are now sealed due to the Three Realms Gateway Offering Event in Genshin Impact. A set of leaks out of Bandai Namco reported by Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad, it has revealed that George R. R. Martin and From Software’s rumored collaboration is titled Elden Ring, and is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game’s webpage was posted without any password protection, leaving it vulnerable to discovery. The Google Stadia controller will not be able to seamlessly connect to all your devices at launch. While you will be able to utilize a wireless connection with Chromecast Ultra, you’ll have to plug the controller in with a USB-C cable to use it with a computer or Google Pixel 3 phone. You’ll still be able to switch devices on the fly, however. While the trailer says the Stadia controller connects directly to the Stadia servers, the fine print in the trailer spotted by 9to5google clarifies that this will only be possible with Chromecast Ultra at launch....
