Guardians of the Galaxy is easily one of Marvel’s most popular movies out there. The title is known for its more mature sense of humor as well as the incredibly nostalgic soundtrack that seems to bring all generations together. Proving to be a successful venture in something very different from Marvel’s previous movie, the film does a good job of mixing humor into a rather serious storyline that would break almost anyone’s hearts; each character has such a tragic background story, after all....

The Guardians of the Galaxy are back with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is looking like it’s going to be the most emotionally charged installment yet. It hasn’t even been a week since The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, but that doesn’t mean that Marvel isn’t ready to continue the journey of everyone’s favorite gang of misfits. Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed a new co-op-focused online Horizon project is currently in the works at the studio. Reports of a co-op component for the Horizon series first emerged in 2020, when VGC claimed the studio had initially been looking to implement the feature as part of 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn before ditching it to focus on other areas. Co-op was then said to have been revived for Horizon Forbidden West, potentially as a separate mode, but again didn’t make the final cut....

Acclaimed movie director Guillermo Del Toro has vowed never to work on a video game again following the cancellation of Silent Hills. Silent Hills was cancelled amidst the Konami/Hideo Kojima debacle, which has seen the developer’s name scrubbed from all products, included Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Following the cancellation of Silent Hills, it emerged that Kojima and Del Toro were still eager to work together, but based on Del Toro’s recent quotes in an interview with shaknews, it’s unlikely they’ll work together on a game....

Xbox has announced the games coming to Xbox Game Pass for the first few weeks of August, which include a bunch of Codemasters racers via EA Play. Kicking things off on August 5 is a drop of four games for Cloud, Console and PC. Curse of the Dead Gods, Dodgeball Academia, Katamari Damacy Reroll and Lumines Remastered will all be available to subscribers. The same day will also see the first and third entries in EA’s Skate series arrive via EA Play on the console and in the cloud, respectively for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers....

Xbox has announced that anthology bundle Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be getting a spit and polish for the next-generation Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X a week after the new console’s launch. Announcing the news via Twitter, the account revealed that improvements will include the ability to run both Campaign and Multiplayer modes at a whopping 120FPS on both S and X consoles, split-screen improvements and the ability to run in up to 4K on resolution on the Xbox Series X....

There’s a whole new set of challenges available in Fortnite Chapter 2, and some of the new challenges require players to interact with newly-added mechanics like fishing for weapons and hiding in the new hideouts. Hideouts are one of the newly added mechanics which allow players to ambush their enemies. Players can hop into any one of the available hideouts and conceal themselves from their enemies. This new mechanic adds more depth to the gameplay as players are now able to get the jump on their prey from hiding....

Epic will be releasing the Fortnite V.1.9.1 tomorrow (29 November) and there are a few changes and updates for both Battle Royale and Save the World modes. Epic has now decided to modify the Rocket Launcher to facilitate rocket riding which was discovered by players a few weeks ago. Bushes are also being moved around and hitching has been reduced. The smoke grenade has been added to Battle Royale which is a non-lethal grenade that obscures vision....

UPDATE 12/6/22: As expected, tonight’s Xbox and Bethesda Showcase brought the official unveiling of Forza Horizon 5’s Hot Wheels expansion. Set in the sky above Mexico, this pack contains what Microsoft desribes as Forza’s “most extreme tracks ever devised” as well as the ability to make your own from 80 pre-set pieces. 10 fresh motors include the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 and the 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II. The expansion will launch on 19th July - here’s a first trailer....

These new free games will be available to download for PS Plus subscribers beginning Tuesday, November 5. The free PS Plus games for November 2019 are Nioh and Outlast 2. There aren’t any free PS Plus games for PS3 or PS Vita, as Sony discontinued those earlier this year to instead focus solely on PS4 offerings....

Counselor-killing simulator Friday the 13th: The Game is heading to Nintendo Switch, Gun Media has announced. Known as Friday the 13th: The Game – Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition, the game will arrive with all previously released DLC, so that means you get stuff like the Jason Kill Pack, Counselor Clothing pack, and Emote Party Pack. A FIFA player who trashed his DualShock 3 controller after in-game footballer Mario Götze missed a 90th minute penalty has had the controller replaced by the real life Germany and Bayern Munich star. Gamer Mario Thissen messaged Götze claiming the footballer owes him €49.90 for the miss because in his rage he smashed his DS3. Somewhat amazingly Götze replied, not only apologising, but also offering to send a replacement pad. What a guy....

The most pertinent piece of information is that the shooter will be launching on Steam alongside the Windows Store when it releases on Sept. 10 (though the Steam store page has Sept. 9 listed).
