Sucker Punch has announced that upcoming samurai adventure Ghost of Tsushima has gone gold and is ready to be sent off for disc pressing ahead of its release next month. (via PlayStation Trophies) Sucker Punch’s co-founder Brian Fleming tweeted that he was ‘proud’ to be one member of an ‘incredible team’ who had recently had to transition to working from home due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, saying that they ’never missed a beat’ to meet the game’s intended release date despite the upheaval in their working environment....

Godus co-creator and No.2 to Peter Molyneux Jack Attridge has announced he has left 22Cans to pursue his own ideas as an indie dev. Speaking to the Guardian, Attridge said he leaves on amicable terms with Molyneux who many believed had been tutoring the former EA Bright Light designer to one day fill his shoes. “Friday was my last day,” he told the Guardian. “Me and Peter went on a big 10 mile walk and finally said our goodbyes....

Gran Turismo Sport developer Polyphony Digital has confirmed that the newly-unveiled GR Supra Racing Concept will be added to the PS4-exclusive racer next month as part of a new update. The flashy motor is based on the Toyota Supra that was manufactured up to 2002, now returning as a race car after a sixteen year hiatus. It was designed by Toyota’s dedicated motorsports division, Toyota Gazoo Racing, which specialises in the production of the GR franchise....

Mythological rouguelike Hades has become the first video game to receive an accolade at the annual Hugo Awards. The writing award has celebrated the best in science fiction and fantasy writing since 1953. This year marked the first time the ceremony has had a ‘Best Video Game’ category. Hades was up for the gong alongside Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Blaseball, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Spiritfarer and The Last of Us Part II and beat them out for the award this past Saturday....

Independent developer Ninja Theory announced that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will receive a virtual reality makeover next week. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition releases July 31, adding Oculus Rift and HTC Vice support to PC versions of the game. “This isn’t just an add-on or some DLC,” said Dominic Matthews, Hellblade‘s commercial director. “This is the full Hellblade game as a standalone VR experience.” The VR mode comes as a free update to all current Hellblade owners....
