Fortnite update 6.30 has come and brought the rumoured cowboy mode with it. The Wild West limited time mode gets rid of automatic weapons, traps, rocket launchers and shield potions, because none of those featured in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Dynamite is a new explosive that’s been added as part of this LTM, because there was loads of that bloody stuff knocking about in the Old West, but at time of writing, it’s actually been taken out....

Little Mac seems like the most obvious, easiest cosplay out there, which is why it’s also a little odd that we haven’t seen a whole lot of it. So, I really enjoyed it when I found Rae Kay’s cosplay, with his own personal Doc Louis and Referee Mario to boot. Thanks to COVID, they are one of the highest grossing games ever, easily reaching $2 billion after only 5 years since the launch. The objective of Coin Master is to win coins to upgrade items in order to build up villages. It’s found under the ‘Adventure games’ category of app stores, but it does use gambling mechanics....

Alternatively, it’s possible Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok will be announced alongside the PS5 or Xbox Series X reveals. It’s expected that both Sony and Microsoft will properly unveil their next-generation consoles within the next few months, and the companies will need games to showcase alongside the hardware. The Assassin’s Creed franchise is immediately recognizable and has mainstream appeal, so it seems like a safe bet to show off the power of the new consoles....

The Coalition showed off Gears 5’s Horde mode during the Inside Xbox presentation at Gamescom and the main takeaway is that each character will have Ultimates. So, all of the standard stuff is here: wave after wave of enemies, build fortifications to keep them at bay, blahdy blah. But, now, like hero shooters, you’ll have a different special ability depending on who you’re playing as, which can be used once you build up your Ultimate meter....

Microsoft will lift the wraps off the first multiplayer footage of Gears 5 on June 14, during an episode of the new TBS TV series, Eleague Gears Summer Series: The Bonds and Betrayals of Brotherhood. It’s a six-part series that will air over the summer, and focuses on six esports players and fans of the Gears of War series who slug it out in various tournaments. Naturally, Microsoft feels this is the best way to offer up the first multiplayer footage of The Coalition’s highly anticipated sequel to Gears of War 4 (via VentureBeat)....

Today EastAsiaSoft made a surprise announcement, revealing that the newly-announced Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates H by Felistella is actually coming west. It’ll be released in North America and Europe, on top of Asia, for Nintendo Switch in Spring 2022. It’ll include Japanese voiceovers, while subtitles will be in English and Traditional Chinese. The title for the west will simply be “Seven Pirates H.” If the name is unfamiliar, Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates was originally launched in Japan for PlayStation Vita in 2016 and never localized....

Doug Cockle, the actor renowned for portraying Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series of video games, has told me he’s sad to see Henry Cavill leave The Witcher Netflix show. Netflix announced Cavill would leave the show at the end of the series three.
