PC gamers picking up GTA 5 at midnight will want to make sure they are running the latest GeForce Game Ready driver, which is available to download now, Nvidia has announced. The GeForce 350.12 WHQL Game Ready Grand Theft Auto 5 drivers can be downloaded through the GeForce Experience or via the GeForce.com drivers page. “With the new GeForce Game Ready driver you’ll have optimal performance when playing its explosive single-player, multiplayer, and co-op modes, and when enhancing your game with supported NVIDIA technologies,” states Nvidia....
A GTA 5 player who failed their in-game driving test is only using public transport to get around Los Santos. After failing their San Andreas driving test, redditor MotorDesigner reached out to the GTA subreddit for advice on the best way to get around the city without a car - legally, in other words, even though the concept is comically novel in any GTA game, of course. Admittedly, the in-game driving test doesn’t look too troublesome - questions include when it’s permissible to run a red light, what the correct driving position is, and how best to drive when “getting serviced orally by a girl while driving” - MotorDesigner failed to meet the San Andreas Department of Motor Vehicles’ low, low standards, and therefore cannot drive legally in the city....
Guerrilla Games is seeking a senior game writer who has experience in telling stories for “open-world RPG games, online games, and MMORPGs.” Its Amsterdam office boasts of a writing team who wish to “push the boundaries of dramatic storytelling in open-world games,” producing “dialogue that crackles,” and collaborating with “designers, artists, animators, actors and technicians throughout the studio, and beyond.” Oo-er. Right now, the team would like to hire a senior game writer who would “pitch compelling ideas for game quests, factions and backstories,” and “write quest dialogue, systemic dialogue, story outlines and faction documents....

The Game Awards has come and gone, with From Software’s Elden Ring claiming the coveted award. As usual with these showcases, gamers tuned in for announcements on what may very well be the winner of the next GOTY award. Supergiant Games made a surprise appearance at the event, with a trailer debuting the sequel to the team’s universally acclaimed title Hades. Luckily, Marcus Lehto, a co-creator of Halo 2, had an early iteration of one of the game’s cinematics to show off to fans. The Halo expanded universe goes far beyond Master Chief. In fact, Halo Infinite‘s new setting, a Halo ring never before explored in the games, connects to a story set hundreds of thousands of years before humanity’s war with the Covenant. Installation 07, or “Zeta Halo” as it’s referred to by the UNSC, was built by the ancient Forerunners (the advanced alien species that preceded modern humanity and the Covenant) as the ultimate weapon meant to assert their control over the galaxy that later used to wipe out the parasitic Flood....
The latest novel in the Halo series, Halo: The Rubicon Protocol, will be a prequel to the events of Halo Infinite. The Halo franchise has a long history of expanding into outside media to tell stories that we don’t get to see in the mainline game series itself. Halo novels have played a significant role in building out the extended Halo universe with prequels and side stories that add to the canon of events between the games....
It looks like Halo: Infinite may have finally set a release date for this December, according to a listing spotted on the Microsoft Store. While the game has been earmarked for the vague ‘Holiday 2021’ window for some time, Twitter account Aggiornamenti Lumia spotted the Microsoft Store’s listing for the game updating to December 8, 2021. While this date was swiftly removed for the time being, The Verge have apparently verified this date with its own sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans....
Dwarven mining simulator Hammerting has been digging away in Steam Early Access since October 27. The developer, Warpzone Studio, has decided that it’s mined as much as it can from Early Access players and is now preparing for launch. Warpzone, with help from publisher Team17, just announced that the release date for Hammerting is November 16. But that’s not all. Hammerting also got a new Epic Crafting update, out today....

If you’ve been exploring the Irid Novo in Hellpoint, then it’s likely that you’ve come across a few secret locked areas that you can’t get to. These are some of Hellpoint‘s “Black Hole Hour” rooms. They’re locked behind an energy gate just like the ones in boss rooms or during the game’s “Hell Hour,” except that they have a golden/light barrier (instead of orange). You won’t be able to enter them until you input those Eye Codes....
Naraka: Bladepoint entered the closed beta stage on November 3. Since then, players have been captivated by the stunning landscape and the action-packed gameplay. Low sales of the Wii U weren’t the only reason Nintendo decided to not offer dual GamePad support on its somewhat underwhelming console. The decision was also due to a general lack of suitable games to actually make its implementation worthwhile, former Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé has said.
