While the E3 2011 show floor won’t be open until tomorrow, plenty of news is being made right now. Microsoft set the stage with their Press Event today, followed closely by both Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. The Coalition cordially invites Gears 5 players to the Pumpkin Ball: the new Halloween multiplayer mode that unlocks the Frankenstein’s Imago skin (via Game Rant). Most recently, the COG Gear, the DeeBee, the Warden, and General RAAM have been added as unlockable characters to the Gears 5 multiplayer modes. Players who rank up to level 20 in this month’s Gears of War 4 beta will unlock a variety of rewards for use in the final game, The Coalition has revealed. An exclusive ‘Vintage Kait’ character model, emblem and bounty card can all be yours for hitting level 20, along with special ‘Vintage’ weapon skins for the pistol and Lancer. The rewards won’t be available to use in the beta, but will be accessible in the full game at launch....

The Genshin Impact 3.0 release date and time along with banner and event details have been announced for the upcoming update, titled The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings. Along with the new Sumeru region and Dendro element, there will be two Banner phases and new time-limited events in the latest update, with the Genshin Impact 3.0 Banners featuring new Sumeru 5-Star and 4-Stars, and some returning S-tier characters. Sony’s Santa Monica Studio has announced that 2018’s God of War will launch on PC in the first two weeks of next year. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the release will include the entirety of the PlayStation 4 entry of the series, and will support true 4K resolution and unlocked framerates. There’ll also be a range of graphical presets and options to allow you to tweak the game to your setup....

Ratings body the Pan European Game Information (or PEGI) has seemingly outed the existence of a PlayStation 4 version of PS5 title Godfall on its website. The loot based hack and slasher was originally a launch title for the PlayStation 5, arriving back in November of last year. It sees you play as a warrior of Aperion, where you must deck out your hero with ‘Valorplates’ in order to infer various attributes before you join forces with up to three other players....

Whether one is interested in Google Stadia or not, there’s no denying that it is an ambitious project. The Stadia’s main goal is to let players experience triple-A gaming experiences regardless of their hardware or location, though it will actually going to be more limited at launch than originally believed. As revealed by Google’s Rick Osterloh, the Stadia will not work with mobile wireless carriers at launch. “It’s just going to run on wi-fi to start,” Osterloh said in an interview with The Verge....

Today Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the latest free update (numbered 1.19) for their racing game Gran Turismo 7. The update will release tomorrow (July 28) and will include three new cars including a couple of legendary rides and a shiny Porsche. Here’s the list. Gran Turismo 7 producer Kazunori Yamauchi has apologised to fans following the restoration of the game’s online servers. Yamauchi wrote the following on the official Gran Turismo website. “Immediately before the release of the 1.07 update, we discovered an issue where the game would not start properly,” he said. “This was a rare issue that was not seen during tests on the development hardware or the QA sessions prior to the release, but in order to prioritize the safety of the save data of the users, we decided to interrupt the release of the 1....

Gran Turismo 7 creator Kazunori Yamauchi has confirmed that the upcoming racer’s campaign mode will require an online internet connection. Speaking in an extensive interview with Eurogamer, Yamauchi-san explained the reasons for the requirement saying “it’s just to prevent cheating overall from people trying to modify the save data, so that’s the reason for the online connection.” In fact, it seems you’ll need an active internet connection for most parts of the game....

Inviting critically acclaimed rappers onto an official livestream to play Grand Theft Auto Online might seem like a promising PR move, but sometimes it turns out to not be the best idea, as Rockstar Games found out to their dismay on February 1. The video game publisher invited American rappers Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA onto its official Twitch channel to play a bit of Grand Theft Auto Online’s new Diamond Casino Heist, which was released in December 2019....

With Rockstar Games having launched Red Dead Redemption 2 last year, everyone is waiting to see what’s next from the award-winning company. Rockstar is keeping its next video game project a secret for now, but that hasn’t stopped speculation from running rampant. The general consensus seems to be that Rockstar’s next game will either be Bully 2 or Grand Theft Auto 6, and now comments from GTA 5 Trevor voice actor Steven Ogg seem to indicate that GTA 6 may indeed be next in line....
