If you just can’t get enough of Bungie and their rag-tag team of Spartan warriors then you may be anxious to know about some of the changes coming to the multiplayer aspect of Bungie’s latest creation, Halo: Reach. The big news is that Halo: Reach’s multiplayer will feature load outs. Load outs are a selection of pre-set classes, so if you were a fan of Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Team Fortress then you may be happy to learn this.

However, those of you who were hoping to design their own kick-ass jet-pack flying Spartans may be sad to hear that you can’t create your own load out, according to this week’s Bungie Update.

The inability to create your own class sucks, but at least you have an option to mix up your starting weapons and abilities a little; unlike all the other Halo games that just put you in the armor of an Elite or Spartan. The load out options will also vary based on which mode the player is on.

“Load Outs are not player created or defined, but rather playlist and/or game type specific. Essentially, they allow you to choose your Armor Ability, your starting primary and secondary weapons, and your grenade cache on the fly.”

On top of all this news Bungie revealed a new ability called the “Armor Lock”. The new ability is a power up that makes your Spartan invincible for whatever amount of time you hold down the button, but the catch is that when this ability is going on you are rendered as immobile. Don’t worry though because with the “Armor Lock” you can “shed plasma grenades, shred vehicles unfortunate enough to attempt a splatter, and deflect projectiles (And you look pretty bad ass while you’re doing it.)”

“For some playlists, that might mean every Load Out features the same weapon sets with only the Armor Abilities to distinguish them. For others, it might mean that as the game goes on, you’ll have access to more and more choices based on a number of factors we can fiddle with.”

You can check out the new ability right after the jump.

There is still a lot more to be revealed on Halo: Reach, so stay tuned to Game Rant for more news as soon as it becomes available.

Are you guys excited to hear more news about Reach, or will you stick with Team Fortress?
