343 Industries has offered a minor stay of execution for the online services for the Halo games on the Xbox 360.
Late last year, the studio announced it would be shutting down the online services for several older Halo titles in December. However, it seems the Halo Waypoint blog post has recently been given an update. (Spotted by Video Games Chronicle.) While it’s only a short reprieve, the legacy services will now be shut down on January 13, 2022.
The reason for the Halo on Xbox 360 services’ closure is to allow 343 to shift their resources to Halo Infinite. The new entry launches on December 8 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and we got a fresh look at the campaign earlier today.
