Rather than utilizing default license plates, players can make one with colors and characters of their choice. Thus, adding a personalized flair to their vehicles. The process of making a custom license plate is somewhat monotonous but rewarding nonetheless. To make this procedure less tedious, this list details step-by-step instructions on how to create a custom license plate in GTA Online.
Download The iFruit App
First, players must download the iFruit app from their respective application store - Apple Store or Google Play Store. Upon doing so, players must then connect their devices to their Grand Theft Auto Online Social Club account.
Players must ensure that their account connects properly and is the appropriate one. Otherwise, they may inadvertently make an unusable custom license plate. Once finished, players may familiarize themselves with the iFruit app and all it has to offer.
Familiarize Yourself With The iFruit App
Upon opening the iFruit app, players will realize that it is remarkably familiar. They will see two distinct applications: Los Santos Customs and Chop the Dog. The former is where players can create a custom license plate - among numerous other functions. The latter allows players to train Franklin’s rambunctious dog Chop, making him a better-behaved pet.
Once players do a thorough investigation of the iFruit app, they can select the Los Santos Customs application. Similar to the game itself, it has a considerable loading time. Upon finally opening, players can begin familiarizing themselves with the Los Santos Customs application.
Familiarize Yourself With The Lost Santos Customs App
Players will notice that the Los Santos Customs app features each of their characters. If they want, they may delve into their characters to view pertinent information. Afterward, players will find four tabs: Garage, Customize, Plates, and Home.

Receive In-Game Confirmation
Should players have done everything correctly, they will receive in-game confirmation. An SMS message will appear stating that the custom license plate is available at Los Santos Customs.
If not, then players must carry out numerous checks and processes to determine the issue. First, players should ensure they are using the correct Social Club account. Second, players should ensure they chose the correct character. Third, players should restart Grand Theft Auto Online and check again. Finally, players should repeat the custom license plate process. If nothing works, players should seek assistance from Rockstar Games.
Go To Los Santos Customs
This time it is not about the app at all. Players now need to wait for the load times of the game and hop into an online lobby. Make sure to call the mechanic and get whatever car it is that needs an updated plate.
