There are several weapons that you can find as you explore the world of Grime. Some are found once you loot crystals, while others can be purchased from merchants. There might also be stat requirements before you can equip these. Here’s our Grime weapons guide to help you find the armaments in the game.

Grime: Weapons guide – Finding the best equipment for you
Grime follows a concept from Dark Souls whereby most weapons have a particular stat requirement: Strength, Dexterity, and Resonance. Moreover, weapons tend to have a scaling value denoted by a letter (which you’ll see in the tables below). For instance, if it says that a weapon’s STR and DEX are “0E,” it means that there are no point requirements to equip it. Sadly, it’ll have poor scaling even if you’ve put points into those stats. Conversely, a weapon might have “DEX-20A” and “RES-10B.” It means you need 20 Dexterity and 10 Resonance just to use that piece. Fortunately, it’ll have high scaling for the former and decent scaling for the latter depending on your stat spread.
Another rule of thumb is that slower weapons (i.e., those that require lots of STR) tend to deal more damage. But, because it’d take you a second or two before you land a hit, you could leave yourself wide open. As such, I would suggest weapons with fast or average speeds. Additionally, there are lantern-type weapons that take your Resonance (i.e., INT) stat into account. However, these are proc-based, meaning you’ll need to dish out a few hits before an effect is triggered.
Note 1: The weapons in Grime have regular attacks and a special attack. These special attacks can be done by pressing right-click or the “Y” button on your gamepad.
Note 2: Grime was recently patched (version 1.03). It changed the stat requirements for some of the weapons. For instance, the Nail Scythe from the Worldpillar vendor (seen below) originally had DEX-8C and RES-5D. Now, it’s DEX-6C and RES-4D. I’ve updated the guide accordingly to reflect these changes.
Note: Grime is available via Steam. For more information, check out our guides and features hub.
