One of the first-confirmed PlayStation 5 titles is the upcoming looter-slasher Godfall, expected to be a PS5 launch title come next holiday season. Since Godfall’s initial announcement at The Game Awards 2019, more information has been released about the game, including an image of some of the weapons that fans can expect to collect during their adventure.
The image of the Godfall weapons shows a variety of melee weapons that will be at players’ disposal. This includes highly-detailed swords and hammers, and what appears to be spears and axes. The level of detail in the Godfall weapons is perhaps the most impressive aspect of its weapons, as it shows off one of the benefits of the game coming to next-generation hardware. And luckily, it seems that the Godfall weapons look just as great in action.
No gameplay footage of Godfall has been released so far, but we still have seen some gameplay. Godfall gameplay has been released in GIF form, showing fans an encounter with a rather sizable enemy at some point in the game. In that GIF, we see two player characters attempt to fight off the enemy, only to get beaten down and face-slammed to the concrete. It’s not a lot to go by, but it still looks rather impressive.
As for when proper Godfall gameplay footage may be released that gives fans an even better look at the game’s combat and weapons, that remains to be seen. With Godfall expected to be a PS5 launch title, one has to imagine that proper footage will be shown around the same time that Sony reveals the PS5 console itself. Nothing official has been announced in regards to the PS5 reveal, but rumors point to Sony hosting a February event to properly showcase its next-generation console.
It will definitely be interesting to see more of Godfall, as the short trailer shown at The Game Awards 2019 and the combat GIF have both seemed to generate quite a bit of interest. Fans of games like Borderlands and Destiny in particular seem interested in Godfall, so it will be interesting to see if the game is high quality enough to deliver the next big looter.
Godfall will launch holiday 2020 for PC and PS5.
