Those hoping to own the Kingdom Hearts experience in one physical package will get their wish next month. Although Kingdom Hearts III concluded the saga that began in 2002, the franchise is still getting new content. The Kingdom Hearts III: Re:Mind DLC released last month, and Square Enix is currently working on a new mobile game titled Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.
Although some people like to make fun of Kingdom Hearts’ convoluted storytelling, there’s no denying the games have left an impact on its players. From Riku’s rise from the darkness, to Sora’s journey to becoming a Keyblade master, there is a lot to like. For RPG fans, there are plenty of abilities and summons, plus truly challenging boss battles. For Disney fans, many iconic worlds and characters appear. There are a number of Kingdom Hearts titles to play. Thankfully, there are the two HD Collections, which were later collected under The Story So Far. To make things even simpler, Square Enix is releasing the All-In-One Package physically.
Last year, Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts All-In-One Package on the PlayStation Store. This massive collection contains the content in The Story So Far, as well as Kingdom Hearts III. In a press release (via Anime News Network), Square Enix announced it is releasing All-In-One Package physically on March 17. It will be available at GameStop, and select retailers in North America.
All-In-One Package as a physical release is a big deal for those who prefer physical media. The price for the compilation will be $49.99. Considering All-In-One Package is currently $99.99 digitally, this is quite the deal. According to the press release, the physical version will come with exclusive box art from Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura. Players should be aware that All-In-One Package does not feature the Re:Mind DLC.
Kingdom Hearts is clearly not going anywhere yet. Next to Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts is easily Square Enix’s most popular franchise. The character of Sora has become ingrained in video game culture. Of course, one of the most appealing aspects of Kingdom Hearts is getting to see Mickey Mouse as a legendary Keyblade Master. Fans will be looking forward to what comes next.
