Speaking to CNBC, GameStop CEO Dan DeMatteo has revealed that the retailer expects a major Nintendo release to arrive late this year, but has no idea what it could be.
“We think there will be a Nintendo key property coming out by the end of the year,” said DeMatteo. “They haven’t given us any insight, but they have told us to reserve [shelf] space.”
The secret Nintendo game won’t have all the shelf space to itself though, with DeMatteo predicting big things for Activision’s Modern Warfare 2.
“We think the new ‘Call of Duty’ from Activision will be one of the best selling games of the year,” he said. “People are dying to see footage – or anything, really – from that right now.”
