Game announcements occur all the time. Whether it be the birth of a new franchise or that long awaited sequel finally primed for development, excitement and anticipation usually follow. However, what happens when it takes over a decade to get one game released? Extended development time brings with it assumptions. The more time it takes to release a project, especially a sequel to a formerly popular game, it is assumed that it will be good enough to warrant to lag between new releases.

What happens when you save up 15 years of expectations, hope and excitement only to be crushed by what you purchase?

Games have got to appeal to their audience. Many die-hard fans are disappointed with the game.

This is the first Gamer’s Law aimed, not at fellow gamers, but at game developers. If the community is going to wait, the product must be worth the wait. Or at least worth the money spent.
