GameBlast15, a video games marathon weekend taking place in aid of raising money for the charity SpecialEffect, begins tomorrow at 12pm GMT with a Rusescape 24 hour event held by Jagex.

You can follow the action on the charity’s Twitch channel.

All the money raised will help SpecialEffect change the lives of many people with disabilities by bringing the fun and inclusivity of gaming back into their lives.

“SpecialEffect is a cause that’s very close to our hearts at Jagex,” said Phil Mansell, vice president of RuneScape. “We had a lot of fun last year with our livestream for GameBlast14, so it’s fantastic to get stuck in once again and get even more involved in GameBlast15.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming Mick and the SpecialEffect team to Jagex, as well as holding our own 24-hour marathon and double XP weekend, next month.”

More than 50 companies and over 250 individuals and teams from the gaming industry are taking part in an effort to raise money.

On Saturday morning at 10am a Children in Need-style 24 hour livestream will be broadcast from the London headquarters of UKIE, featuring interviews with top gaming figures, playthroughs of new game content, gaming merchandise giveaways and regular updates from the hundreds of teams across the world taking part in the charity fundraiser. The stream will be accessible via Twitch.

GAME and Ginx are also partnering for a series of events and livestreams.
