Epic Games’ Fortnite has been notching up some impressive feats as of late, and this week it’s added another string to its bow: the game now has more monthly active users than Grand Theft Auto Online.

That’s according to a report on SuperData for the month of February, which confirms that Epic Games’ shooter has managed to eclipse the Rockstar Games juggernaut — no mean feat considering it’s one of the most popular titles currently doing the rounds.

Obviously Fortnite has a massive advantage in the sense its Battle Royale mode is completely free, but it’s still a major achievement considering the pulling power of the GTA brand.

That’s not all either. Fortnite came second only to Call of Duty: WWII for generating more in-game cash than any other title in February. So, not too shabby, then.

In case you missed it, musician Drake has revealed he’s actually a pretty big fan of Fortnite and not too bad at it either. The game recently received cross-platform play for PC, mobile, and Xbox One users, and Microsoft has said that it’s eager to get PlayStation 4 gamers in on the action.
